I am a muslim scientist! Well, a 14 year old aspiring psychologist/astronomer/chemist/biologist/philosopher/physicist...Well anyways, down with capitalism and up with a socialist-libertarian egalitarian society! The constitution should be as such: material objects other than food, medicine, etc. (Food and medicine will be given as comfortably required) will be shared at an equal value through the use of credits. Credits are given at a set amount and cannot be traded. Everyone is free to do as they please as long as it does not insensibly harm another (insensibly meaning anything more than an accident or an extremely indirect insult), oh and no leaders, nor a small group of legislators/politicians, etc. Everyone is the leader (Animal farm!)

Sorry, I need more space... Everyone has equal say. Come on cousins! (I call you cousins because it has been genealogically proven we are all related because at one point, our numbers were at only 4 million and by now, we are at least distantly related to each other, or if you are Christian/Muslim/Hebrew, there is Adam and Eve) We must create a peaceful rebellion! No more shall we be restricted of power by this thing called money and social status! We are equals and should treat each other as such! No more war or poverty! Let people join us, don't force them in! I highly doubt a society like this would ever happen, but hopefully..., hopefully....

Yeah thats what would happen in our current state. The idea is that one day in the future, once we develop a culture that creates human beings who would do those things for the society for free, we wouldn't worry about poverty or hunger because we'd be self-sufficient. You know, criminality is a product of the society, so we fix the society to form minimum to no deviance. Is it possible? Maybe. Would the system work now? Hell no.

Hey bro I'm all for a resource based economy, but a no-leader system leads to dictatorship always. ALWAYS. by the way, Libertarian is kind of the opposite of socialist because libertarians strive for laissez-faire...everything. One day once our culture has evolved enough to create a system with minimum deviance and well-spirited, productive individuals, then we can dream :]. I was like you when I was younger too man.

Yeah I believe man can be moral, we are a social creature! So first, we improve our culture, or learned behavior, then we fix the system :]

Socialism does not work. Why? Because people enjoy making money and are willing to work hard (ie become a doctor) to make money. When you remove the motivation to work hard, people become lazy and productivity goes to ****.

I like democratic socialism for our current culture. If one day humanity evolves to the point where we no longer need to use papers to pay for things and everyone is a productive member of the society, then it'll work.

But like I said, without an incentive people will not bother to try to get ahead. Why work your ass off to become a doctor if you can sweep floors for the same wage? Why create a new videogame/prescription drug/etc when you won't make any money off it?

Yeah exactly. Right now, if we were to implement a system like that, it would fail right almost right away. We have vices and greed, etc. The idea is, once we develop a learned behavior beneficial enough to the planet and humanity, we would no longer have vice because everyone would be serviced, and money would not be an incentive. It's a dream world that would take the cooperation of the whole planet and years of behavioral change. Human beings are very malleable in terms of behavior. If you're interested, check out zeitgeist or the venus project or whatever. For now bro, we have a pretty good system in place for our current culture.

That system is a basic impossibility. There will ALWAYS be greed, hate, anger, spite, hell anything you can think of. The simple truth is that most of humanity will never completely aspire to become Utopian people.

Hear me out, What's your take on nature vs nurture? 100 years ago people would have had the same take as you, but now modern sociologists and psychologists have the take that humans are more nurture than nature. That means we're mostly products of our environments. A murderer never decides to kill just for the hell of it. It has a lot to do with his family life, social life, the area he grew up with, what interests he was led to grow up with, etc. No one is born full of spite and greed my friend. Greed, spite, and vice are all products of a flawed environment. That's why I don't think it's impossible, but almost impossible because literally every human being in the world would have to do a 180 degrees on the way they behave and live.

You are quite right, I just wanted to share the idea, but as I said, this will most likely fail. We must try it experimentally first, ie: a community of 1000 volunteers living this way and see the outcome

Might be funny if you knew what you were talking about.

You can make some very strong pro-Islam arguments from an actual knowledge of the Quran and Moslem theology. (I've read some of the denunciation of Osama bin Laden's Qubatist beliefs)

But you did not make a reasoned response, you just parroted a lot of half-heard stuff about 'Islam is a religion of peace,' not because you know what you're talking about but because your just as much an ignorant douche as your fictional opponent (yeah, pretty sure THAT NEVER HAPPENED at least as you describe it)

And btw, there is a Nation of Islam (not a nation, the name of a particular religious movement, Malcolm X was a member) although your opponent was probably refering to the Nation of Palestine

Muhammad laid out some pretty progressive rules of warfare, and medieval Muslims out-niced the Christians in battle by a landslide. Especially since Muhammad personally issued "a distinct code of conduct among Islamic warriors" that included:

No killing of women, children or innocents -- these might include hermits, monks or other religious leaders who were deemed noncombatants;

No wanton killing of livestock or other animals;

No burning or destruction of trees and orchards; and

No destruction of wells.

In short, Muhammad wanted his armies to fight like freaking hippies. During the ******* Dark Ages. And they did.
So while Christian crusaders were beheading enemies and tossing their heads like oversized hacky sacks, their Muslim counterparts had a whole honor code that led them to feed the armies of their defeated enemies.
