Anarchist logic: We're angry that the state is reducing it's input into higher education! Let's smash the state, so there is no state provision at all into higher education!!!!

Seriously, I'm a young person and about to enter Uni, but when I see ******* morons like this packing up the streets waving banners and talking about economics when half of them couldn't tell supply and demand from their own ******* ringpiece, it pisses me off.

The London riots were mostly comprised of students complaining about tuition hikes. "THE RENTS TO DAMN HIGH!"

What we know so far about the Egypt "demonstrations" is that they are complaining about a murderous dictator who allowed the slaughter of thousands of his own people.

I'd say there is quite a difference.
User avatar #5 to #4 - iamwoodman ONLINE (02/10/2011) [-]
you british?
the london protests started peacefull and then people took over and made it into a riot
and no its not the rents too high its that up to 9000 pounds per year is a pretty large change from 3000 pounds from someone who said he wouldnt change the rates
#9 to #5 - bezza (02/10/2011) [-]
Nick Clegg is a two faced bitch he promised people that he wouldn't raise prices but he lied. This led to peaceful protesting led by NUS. The reason for the riots started was because there were several Anarchist between 25 and 30 and they kicked it all off. hardly students
#21 to #9 - QueensXI (02/10/2011) [-]
Nick Clegg didnt sell out, hes not in charge so hows he sold out?
#50 to #21 - anon (02/10/2011) [-]
As a coalition government it's his job to try and push his parties election promises and policies and come to a mid=point with the tories. What he's actually done is bend over, lube his own asshole and take it like a bitch from cameron. He said he agrees with the rises and won't apologise, but what can you expect when all of these people went to the same private "send your dumb kids here because you dont want them with riff-raff and they havnt got a chance of getting into a decent school on merit" school and were in the same ******* class?

Clegg has destroyed the lib dem's chance of ever being a serious party again, it's debateable whether it'll even survive through the next election.
User avatar #95 to #50 - iamwoodman ONLINE (02/11/2011) [-]
MORE IMPORTANT NOTE
london riots not as bad because no bread was taped to any heads
User avatar #93 to #5 - meowmeowman (02/11/2011) [-]
Almost all demonstrations start out peaceful, like you said people take it over and it gets out of hand.

One of the key policies that got the Liberal Democrats the majority of their votes and got them to power was the promise to abolish student fees.
Instead, once in power, they allow student fees to rise from 3000 a year, to 9000 a year.
Yes, the Egyptian protest is against a murderous leader, but the rising of student fees has denied an entire generation the possibility with a higher education and a chance of a better future. And David Cameron completely fails to see that believing that higher education opportunities should be based on household income.
A large majority of students at my University come from a household of under 20,000 a year and put more hours and effort into their studies than those of higher income
User avatar #94 to #6 - meowmeowman (02/11/2011) [-]
And I couldn't agree more.

one side is a bunch of spoiled teenagers complaining about democracy, the other is an entire country revolting against its dictator. yes, those are totally comparable.

david cameron is a cunt
he does nothing for the working class-poverty familys in england
all of the thing hes brining in are going to affect the poorer familys and the rich middle class will be fine- e.g.
tuition fees rise
wanting to privatise all nhs hospitals
he is a cunt

Lol let me tell you a secret. Get education at uni payed entirely by the government in loan form. Move countries and no longer pay taxes to the government. Student loan no longer exists, enjoy your new life abroad.

In Britain, we want to elect leaders who stand by their policies which got the into office in the first place, rather than turn around and do the exact opposite
