Has anyone else ever thought about the evolutionary process of showing teeth as a means to be pugnacious? I heard monkeys do it and so do long stouted animals.

I saw it on a discovery channel episode a long time ago. Basically the gist was that amongst primates, showing teeth was a way to instigate a fight. Kind of like if you were to stare angrily at someone now. With primates, teeths are a weapon. Therefore exposing your weapon shows your about ready to do it. I'm merely suggesting that I find it odd that it's still somewhat relevant to today's standard.
