wtf!!!

my best guess is that the volume of the gas in the tire expanded when heated but that was too sudden :O

Looking at it for like the 150000th time... I think its going in reverse.... but Idk what the hell they wanted to happen
User avatar #40 to #35 - JNS (01/21/2011) [-]
i don't think it's reversed ... you wouldn't throw your hands at it, light it, leave you hands close to it for a second, then slow move your hands away

my best guess is that there is some type of propellant inside the tire (something more explosive than kerosene, but less than gasoline) that causes an explosion large enough to push the tire out, and fill it with expanding gas - but not so large that the tire blows up, bur remains on fire

well, guys, they're using something like ether, or starting fluid. spayed around the rim, and then ignited it causes thetire to pop into the bead. so, no, it's not reversed. we do this with mud tires cause it's hard as **** to get them in the bead.
User avatar #51 to #49 - JNS (01/21/2011) [-]
starting fluid sounds about right
User avatar #56 to #51 - LuckyStrikes (01/21/2011) [-]
I use WD-40...
I do the every time I have to swap a tire/rim, which is often enough when I'm rock crawling as I often role an either blow the tire or bend the rim. Other than that I do it every time I swap tires on my car, truck, or four wheeler.
If you think rolling a rock crawler is hard, try it without a spotter.

he sprayed something flammable (more than likely starting fluid) in the tire, so he lit those gases and the resulting explosion/gases popped the tire back onto the bead

User avatar #41 to #26 - kartracer (01/21/2011) [-]
It's actually a 325i, 325is or 325e. Note how the front grille is not sloped forwards but perpendicular to the ground. An E30 chassis from '82 - '94 most likely.
User avatar #42 to #41 - indiankid (01/21/2011) [-]
youre right, i think its actually an e30 m3...not big enough to be a 5er, i was thrown off by the reverse opening hood
User avatar #43 to #42 - kartracer (01/21/2011) [-]
The hood does give it away. My '85 325e has a reverse opening hood and looks almost exactly like that car.
User avatar #46 to #43 - indiankid (01/21/2011) [-]
oh i thought the reverse hood thing was just on M cars...my e34 has one

Never thought I'd find another Bimmer owner here. How long have you had yours? I just got mine in October, I'm currently preparing it as a touring car.
