The mirror is a rectangle, and when the lady looks at it, it shows her reflection. When the officer asks for her I.D., she gives her the mirror thinking it will only hold her picture. Then, the officer looks in the mirror and sees herself. The officer now thinks the lady is a police officer since she saw her police hat and uniform in the mirror.
