Isn't it so nice for most of us leaving these comments to even be able to have an OPTION to eat meat or not? If I'm not mistaken, aren't there over 1 billion people in the world who are starving? Put a cow or a chicken or a lamb in a place where someone is starving and see if humans aren't supposed to eat meat. They'd thrive off of that meat were it available. We're omnivores, that's just how life is. A lot of people don't have the liberty to choose not to eat meat, because if they don't eat it, they'd die. So maybe the 'barbarians' that guy was talking about needed the meat to survive. Vegetarians that want to only eat veggies, go for it, but don't try to look down upon meat eaters in general, because for some it's not a social choice.

Actually, I read that when our ancestors started catching and eating meat the increase in protein in our diets allowed our brains to grow bigger. So, we're evolved because we eat meat.

Actually, it takes 100 pounds of grain to make one pound of edible beef. If we would just eat the damned grain ourselves instead of the meat, we could produce enough food to sustain the whole world in North America.

If God didn't want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?

Cows are stupid looking animals that stand around and chew all day. They deserver to be eaten. Especially since they are easy to catch. And they taste good.

Whoever posted a comment about 13 hours ago about evolution is in fact telling the truth! Meat is easier to digest allowing more of the bodies energy to be focused anywhere but digesting. This allowed the brains of the early hominids and specifically homo sapiens to grow and develop faster. For a vegetarian to claim that eating meat means we aren't evolved is, quite frankly, WRONG! In short: we are evolved because our ancestors ate meat!

On a side note we are the most widespread animal on the planet because we can eat meat AND vegetables; and have a highly adaptive nature.
