I'm reading the comments below about losing potential customers, money, etc. I agree with both sides to a point, I only pirate because I can't afford it, i'm trying to get a job right now but it is very hard, so since I can't I pirate it, my intentions aren't to hurt the company, I merely want to use the product, if I had money to pay for it I would but I don't. Also by pirating the product I am also providing potential popularity for said product, not necessarily directly but indirectly because I talk about the product with friends, family, etc. So in a sense it is wrong and good just like everything else, everything in life is a double edged sword.

Use the aviation industry as an example. By using their plane are you "Taking the original", nope. But do you still need to pay, yes. The producers have set costs with these things. It doesn't cost them more to let others use it. They could let 150 people on, and it wouldn't cost them a cent. But if they want to cover their set costs, then yes, they do need to charge.
Pirates only take into account the fact that copies do not cost the producer. Totally ignoring the development and investment that went into it.

Really? And what's happened to you then? Or do you not download? Fact is, it's the uploaders who are breaking the law. Not the downloaders. If you're gonna comment on something do a bit of research. Uploaders are sharing. sharing = piracy. All they can do is ask the ISPs to identify and disconnect downloaders, which ISPs are refusing to do. Human rights and all that.
