I'd just keep going, rope or not. If you get yanked and dragged behind my truck then you shouldn't hold a rope across the ******* road.

If they were holding a rope it's not like they could stop me or anything.
#25 - wardylocks (09/08/2013) [-]
A rope/string/wire vs a car.. Why would you stop?
If I was driving and two people were holding 'rope' I'd just keep going, doesn't that make sense?

I could **** up your mirrors, wipers, antenna.... etc. I love my car too much to just go.
User avatar #31 to #29 - wardylocks (09/08/2013) [-]
Surely it would just side around and off the car, a strength of two humans won't really do anything. Especially if it was fishingwire or string.
#37 to #31 - pistacheeo (09/11/2013) [-]
Yeah but the driver doesn't know what material it is, who says it's not a long steel wire?
User avatar #38 to #37 - wardylocks (09/11/2013) [-]
a 2 ton car vs a bit of steel wire..

Are people really falling for this prank really??? As a driver, I wouldn't even notice those two morons in that stance and would not even bother myself to think they were trying to look like as if they were pulling something in there...and I'm not the kind to drive too fast...

I may get red thumbs by saying this, but either those pranks are a setup or those people are plain retarded to actually fall for that...
#14 to #7 - taurusguy (09/08/2013) [-]
To be fair, i wouldnt give a **** , if it really was a rope i would love to see the bastards fly if the rope is poorly placed and doesnt get flung above the car, if it actually damages my car i would just come out and chase the ****** , pretty confident i can catch at least one. Or the camera man
User avatar #16 to #7 - bloodofthedragon (09/08/2013) [-]
I thought this was fake too but then I tried it. It doesn't work on the streets but if you do it in a neighborhood it works perfectly.
#32 to #7 - Nameloc (09/08/2013) [-]
I did this when I was like 12.

Worked in my friend's neighborhood. A few people got mad and honked at us.
But mainly everyone just slowed down.

As a guy who just started driving I might not be in any position to say this, but if you don't notice two kids standing on either side of the road I must call you a bad driver. What if they were 10 year old and they thought it would be fun to run over the street in front of cars? Perhaps I'm just overly cautious and learn something about this on later stages, but ...
#10 to #9 - lyukang (09/08/2013) [-]
Hmm, re-read what I sad above... I never said I wouldn't notice the kids in there... I said I wouldn't notice them trying to do a prank like that...
User avatar #11 to #10 - captnnorway (09/08/2013) [-]
"As a driver, I wouldn't even notice those two morons in that stance" Well whatever. As long as you don't run down any kids I don't mind. Actually, I don't mind if you do that either, you're just some random guy on the internet.
#13 to #11 - lyukang (09/08/2013) [-]
Like I said, I would notice them standing in there...but I wouldn't notice their intention (supposing they were standing still like that while I was drving down that street at said time).

Also, I've been driving for almost 10 years now... I've ran into some tight situations while driving (like a drunk homeless bum running in front of my car at 1 AM) , but thanks God, I've managed to avoid any accidents on these situations so far...

Anyway, just my two cents on the matter above.

Wow, how hilarious almost causing an accident... Twats.
User avatar #18 to #6 - myfourthaccount (09/08/2013) [-]
If you're a driver that falls for such a stupid prank you would probably cause accidents anyway.
User avatar #33 to #18 - nastoy ONLINE (09/08/2013) [-]
It is not legal to just interfere traffics, the driver can't just think, this is a prank, and speed up. Imagine, a person who wanna jump in front of a car as suicide.
Also, the law in my country actually says, you have to take care when there are kids and elders nearby roads.
There are many reasons why you as a driver should stop at this scenario, cause if it isn't a prank, you're the one getting blamed because you got the car.
User avatar #34 to #33 - myfourthaccount (09/08/2013) [-]
Every country has that as a rule for driving. I'm just saying if you can't see that there is no rope there you shouldn't be driving anyway
User avatar #35 to #34 - nastoy ONLINE (09/08/2013) [-]
The people falling for the prank are obviously people who don't know about the pranks existence. It is in every situation not the drivers fault for doing what the law litterally tells him.
If it some pranksters for some reason fal on the road while doing a prank, and the drivers slams into him because he thinks it's a joke, then the driver gets the entire blame, for not doing what he must, meaning lowing the speed and be responsible and make sure not to cause an incident.
But when there are cars behind, doing this prank will exactly cause incidents!
It is so ******* stupid that people think it is funny to take a risk on other humans cost.
They are not "tricking" them into thinking there's a rope, they are forcing them to do what the law says.
User avatar #36 to #35 - myfourthaccount (09/10/2013) [-]
I'm not saying the driver shouldn't slow down, but coming to a sudden stop is literally the stupidest thing a driver could do at that situation. Plus the way the prankers are positioned when tugging the imaginary rope makes it impossible for them to fall on the road. Even if they do fall, they will fall on the opposite side.
I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying, as a driver, you gotta have more logic than that.

I've done this countless times, the results are usually hilarious as most people can be unpredictable but I've never seen this happen. Well done

I'd speed up
If they're big enough assholes to use a real string they deserve the pain
