It's an easteuropean thing in general. You would not believe what a nightmare getting a drivers' license around here is, considering it's perfectly normal to have 6 people cut you off, 2 nearly hit you and at least one try to get you to hit him in the back for insurance money withing 5 minutes of leaving the house. Also, there's the gypsies, who pose a completely different problem. Hope you like horse **** , by the way.

I would never think about driving a car when visiting family in bosnia. When I'm there over the holidays I always travel by bicycle, despite having a drivers license.

my dad lived in the soviet union and my uncle made his license

And yet other countries cant understand why we dont want eastern "europeans" to come freely to eu and start crossing our boarders. Success breeds gypsy/ruskie invasions.
User avatar #124 to #109 - thechosentroll (08/23/2013) [-]
Eh, depends on the type of gypsies. I live on the outskirts of the gypsy neighborhood and they're actually pretty cool. They mostly just go through trash cans and do jobs no one else wants It's the ones that aren't local that are asses, since they just come to steal. Hence, why all you see in western Europe is the **** kind - they're not locals. They're not there to settle down. They're there for the sole purpose of stealing as much as they can and bringing it back home.

Don't Russians just bribe the instructor?
User avatar #122 to #69 - thechosentroll (08/23/2013) [-]
1. I'm not russian.
2. It's very tightly monitored, there's a camera installed in each instructors' car along with a microphone and you'd have to bribe around 6-7 people if you count the health and safety course.
User avatar #116 to #69 - klina (08/23/2013) [-]
>bribe the instructor

***** , have you ever even tried to get a license?

Your instructor instructs you, teaches you.
The commission decides whether or not you pass.
It's consisted of 2-4 people whom you drive around the place you live.
I'd like to see you try and bribe them all.
User avatar #119 to #116 - joshlol (08/23/2013) [-]
>have you ever even tried to get a license?

Yes in the UK. More than a few Russians tell me that it's not uncommon for people in their country to bribe their way into a license.
User avatar #120 to #119 - klina (08/23/2013) [-]
It might not be uncommon, but it sure as hell ain't easy or common, people bribe their way to a licence just about as much as they bribe their way into anything else, it ain't easy, and not everyone can/will do it.

I'm a pedestrian most of the time and I can confirm horse **** part. When passing through gypsy parts it looks like medieval times.
User avatar #36 to #4 - klina (08/23/2013) [-]
As a citizen of Macedonia, I can confirm that all of this is true, though not to the extent of which it was described.
The statistics he described are way over the top. Within 5 minutes you can only get cut off 2-3 times, near-miss are like 1-2 per week and insurance set-ups happen once or twice per driver's life.

The gypsies are a royal pain though, words cannot express how much they **** **** up. They are justifyingly called trash ******* around my parts.
User avatar #143 to #36 - sefyu (08/23/2013) [-]
we call them balcan jews

How do they **** **** up?
User avatar #114 to #63 - klina (08/23/2013) [-]
>steal bikes
>steal hubcaps from cars
>go through garbage cans to find something useful to them while tossing everything out of the container, onto the street
>live in disgusting "houses" made of scrap metal, bricks, cardboard, etc.
>don't bathe, smell horrible up to around 3 metres radius
>beg for money/food/cigarettes (the young ones threaten to spit on you if you don't give them, knowing that most people will not hit them since they're little)
>more than 50% of the small time household robberies are done by gypsies, the other highest group being drug addicts (of which at least 20% are gypsies)

I could go on about this more, but I'm sure you get my point

Apparently, there's a reality TV show based on it which is essentially the American Rule 34(if it exists there's a reality TV show about it)

American Gypsies - Meet the Gypsies

User avatar #39 to #9 - klina (08/23/2013) [-]
Step 1: imagine a typical ghetto ******
Step 2: take away 95% of his money
Step 3: make him either catholic or muslim
Step 4: replace his vehicles with a horse carriage

You've got yourself a balkan gypsy, head to toe.

P.S. their young breathe glue vapor and smoke cigarettes starting around the age of 2 - 3 years old.
#46 to #39 - anon (08/23/2013) [-]
The thing is I don't think that that's a gypsy thing in particular.

That's just being an uneducated , closed-off little **** and anyone can be that. It's just that, from what I see, traditional east-EU gypsy culture practically requires them to be closed-off and uneducated... Hence why they are a massive nuisance.
