Another tip for those who use Windows 7 (Probably works with other versions of Windows, too) and Chrome (Maybe works with other browsers, too.)

Windows key (Opens start menu) + # (replace # with any number of your choice on the keyboard) will open up the any program or automatically bring you to an already open program on your task-bar depending on which number is pressed. Ex: Windows key + 1 opens the first program on my taskbar

Browser tabs can be switched between by clicking on whichever tab you want to open, right? Well, Ctrl + T opens a new tab on Chrome, Ctrl + W closes a tab on Chrome, and Ctrl + # (Same rule as Windows + #) switches between tabs depending on which number you press.

These shortcuts will minimize needed usage of mouse to get around on most PC computers.

this can't seriously be getting thumbs, didn't EVERYONE know about this?
User avatar #49 to #40 - spamalope (08/18/2013) [-]
Seriously, it literally says it next to copy when you try to copy/paste something

I thought so too, which is why I was baffled by the post

Yeah Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V cut it, but a switch button would be ELEVEN SHADES OF AWESOME!
User avatar #4 to #3 - Generation (08/17/2013) [-]
No ctrl x cuts it
User avatar #18 to #4 - caelinnis (08/17/2013) [-]
yeah but ctrl-c copies it, *******

How do you figure
User avatar #23 to #22 - angreif (08/18/2013) [-]
admittedly you made an honest mistake. but you corrected a guy who was making a pun. read the first and second comments with that in mind
User avatar #25 to #23 - caelinnis (08/18/2013) [-]
I don't see any pun at all.

Ctrl + C copies, Ctrl + V pastes. Now what does Ctrl + X do? I'ma give you five tries.
User avatar #32 to #29 - Emeexuqu (08/18/2013) [-]
I don't think that explanation cuts it

I feel like the paste light should flash red instead of green. I don't know why, but it'd fit imo
#30 - anon (08/18/2013) [-]
It's a good idea but i'd put it under the space bar so you can hit it with your thumb while typing. Also need to add 'cut' option maybe push in or pull up?
User avatar #17 - logiblack (08/17/2013) [-]
Some of you may be hating on this idea BUT just imagine:

You're doing nothing but browsing some fag-ass webite where you only need either the mouse or the arrows (like FJ or some filthy porn site). You're resting your left hand - maybe ony your lap, maybe right left of the keyboard, but now you see something and you want to copy&paste it just to show it a friend.
And instead of lifting your heavy hand a unnessecary long way over the keyboard so you can reach Ctrl + C/X (and later Ctrl and V) you could just turn the gear.
Not to mention that you could always misclick and **** everything up by clicking Ctrl + D or something like that.
I honestly think this is a great idea.
User avatar #26 to #17 - wertgf (08/18/2013) [-]
The amount of times I've hit Ctrl + S, or D, or X or A is unfathomable. Since I sequence music in the dark... This would be such a cool idea,
#21 to #17 - addex (08/17/2013) [-]
So you don't think it would be overly easy to miscopy something if your arm accidentally hits the button or you shift your laptop and it gets bumped?
User avatar #35 - sergejkarkarov ONLINE (08/18/2013) [-]
I just use two of the buttons on my razer naga, works like a charm.

well, a 60+ dollar mouse has to be useful for something right?

i programmed my mouses scroll wheel so that if i push it left it copy's and right it pastes.
User avatar #54 - loomiss (08/18/2013) [-]
That like finger trail left behind when the finger moves ******* kills me.
User avatar #44 - smittywrbmnjnsn (08/18/2013) [-]
Or just 2 buttons.
There's no need to add a stupid wheel to the side of your keyboard.
Also... how hard is to do the control v stuff?
User avatar #2 - deviousmachine (08/17/2013) [-]
ctrl + C, and ctrl + V on a windows operating system :\
