My high school science teacher once worked in a lab with this one chemical (can't remember the name, may start with m), that when dropped in water, will rapidly combust and move across the water like a released ball in a pinball machine. She and her two male friends once had to dispose of a ton of the stuff, so they put it in a truck and dumped it in a nearby river near a bridge. It resulted in a massive fireball that raced back and forth between the banks, and took ten minutes to burn up completely. They ran down to see if there was any damage, only to find a drunk homeless man under the bridge screaming that he had seen Jesus and that rapture had arrived.
