I love this movie

It was the first disney movie where the male love interest wasn't charming or rich. It presented the idea that maybe you don't have to be both those things to be a hero, or get the girl, so you gotta give disney props for this one. Plus there were some great characters.

i always thought that this movie's plot was way more parallel with the avatar movie than pocahontas, which everyone claimed.

think about it.

all 3 are the same, it's called the "Noble Savage" paradigm.

that... is a really good point. this was one of the few where he was a nerd at the start, he learned to be brave and confident, and continued to be a nerd after everything was over. Unlike hercules

don't know if it's the first, but that is a pretty clear aspect of the film

Thank Joss Whedon. He also wrote Toy Story, The Avengers, and The Cabin in the Woods.

This was the only thing in the movie that bothered me since childhood, especially since it contradicts itself.
In the beginning, it says Plato was the one who talked about Atlantis sinking into the sea. True
It says Plato talked about this in the 800's BC. True.
Then they show that the movie takes place in the early 1900's. Okay.
So she would be over 2500 years old, not 100!!!!!!! What the heck?

Otherwise great movei though. Plus, Lenord Nimoy is the King of Atlantis!!! How awesome is that!!!!

Atlantis is thought to have sank into the sea around 9000 years ago. Plato discussed other people's descriptions of the place. He is saying that she is 8800 years old in this image.

It's one of my favourites because Milo is awkward and Kida is strong, a warrior, when she falls in love she still can do stuff, unlike most of the other Disney movies. I like Meg from Hercules as well because she isn't (how typically) a princess. And Tiana. I like strong female heroines in my goodnight stories.

Wow, this sounds like every feminists dream. Well, I'm just sick and tired of those "girly" romances when the guy's the hero and the girl can't do **** and is a spoiled princess. I guess that's why I love Hayao's movies so much, they usually don't stay together and the girl saves the day - with some exceptions, ofc.

The second movie to this sucked so hard, and the animation to it was even worse. It fills me with the rage of a thousand suns.

So shes immortal...that kinda adds a sad spin to the whole romance thing.
User avatar #39 to #26 - lostinthemusic (07/02/2013) [-]
She's not immortal. The crystals that they have slow the aging process. Milo's aging probably slowed down too.

Dude, when I get high I watch this movie. Before I do also. This movie is just so ******* great. (IMO) I love Kida, a woman like that would be nice, right? How she is, and a nice attitude/(also body.)
P.S I'm about to watch the first movie my 3rd time in 3 days.
