Why does the scouter say 9000 when it would have to be over 9000?

There was a Finnish guy that trained his dog to respond to the command "Hitler" by heiling.

Pic related, its the Finnish guy and his dog, and yes, the dog is wearing sunglasses.

Of course he loved dogs; just think about it. A German shepherd dog is useful, loyal, a status symbol, an image of power, and easy to train and control; the perfect tool to stroke its narcissistic master's ego. And a well-bred dog is developed by selecting only those with quality genetics to include in the breeding population; the basic concept of eugenics.

He liked dogs so much he tried to apply the concepts of animal husbandry to humans, apparently.

To train his higher ups, the SS he had them go out into the woods during winter with a german shepherd puppy and they both had to survive till spring. During this time the puppy would have grown up into a sizable young dog, been trained to work with his master and the both of them have a nice bond. Once their task was complete and they could come out from the forest they would meet hitler himself at a congratulatory ceremony where he would hand them a gun, and order them back into the woods to shoot the dog to prove loyalty.

This story is utterly wrong. It's an urban myth. To move up the ladder of ranks in the SS you had to show enthusiasm and loyalty by attending lectures in DJ 4DM1Nistrative duties - and present your superior with a bouguet of flowers to his birthday. I bet having killed a dog would have proven very usefull as soon as you sit in an DJ 4DM1Nistrative office of the Apollinaris sparkling water GmbH as the liaison officer with the SS-WVHA.
The SS wasn't the army of darkness. It was a governmental organisation with regular structures, consisting of regular people with regular habits - and still was responsible for terrible acts against humanity. All these myths about the SS telling about weird rituals and this stuff are mostly used to trivialise the evil of the ordinary. Please stop spreading those myths and by that trivialising the Third Reich.

This is what I learned in U.S. history class Junior year of highschool. I did not read myths. It was in the curriculum
User avatar #16 to #15 - thepastryistrue (06/22/2013) [-]
Then you should definitely doubt your highschool curriculum.

Yes, random entity on the internet. I will doubt my personal education from a man I respected because you say otherwise.

Yeah, the usual problem. I would recommend some academic literature on the topic now, but I have no knowledge of anglophone literature about this. Maybe you can get hold of Browder, George C.: Hitler's enforcers. The Gestapo and the SS security service in the Nazi revolution, New York (et al.) 1996, or maybe a translation of Höhne, Heinz: Der Orden unter dem Totenkopf. Die Geschichte der SS, Munich 2008.
If you're interested in reassessing your 'personal education' I'd recommend a visit to the next university library.

Considering that same story has gone on about the Spetznatz, Mossad, Army Rangers, Navy Seals, Marines, British SAS, Australian SAS, WWII Japanese, etc, I highly doubt it.

I also doubt it considering that Hitler was an animal rights activist, as well as many of his higher ups.

we all know hitler was a person of questionable action.
the statement in comment #2 was a joke ,not an argument that hitler was good
and no one can question the SS brutality but they were efficient.
if i ever become an evil emperor i would make a branch similar to the SS
but no dog shooting.

instead of re-establishing jews as an OK race to live in europe
they deported their ass to the middle east ,gave them Palestine on a silver plate.
