Tanner Foust did the stunt driving for this. He also did the stunt driving for a lot of the scenes in Tokyo Drift.

That's because he's a brilliant driver.
Nicholas Cage did all his own stunt driving in the Gone in 60 seconds remake

Is the ammo shortage genuine? or is it artificial?
genuine meaning demand far higher than supply.
artificial being supply kept low to increase profits/sell old stock/government induced.

Also, does the DHS buying a **** ton of high precision, high penetration ammo have anything to do with this?
User avatar #67 to #61 - Jewssassin (06/06/2013) [-]
Government started buying out a few different calibers, so people started buying up that and everything else.

I've started to speculate that it may be a way for the government to force people to spend more money. It's not like I'm against having more ammo lying around, but it feels like we're being led along.

*finds .223/5.56, .22lr, 9mm in stock

You can still find a lot of calibers in stock and at a pretty decent price.

Where?
User avatar #35 to #34 - DasSpiel (06/06/2013) [-]
It depends on what you're looking for, but a good place to start is gun - deals . com
#40 to #35 - anon (06/06/2013) [-]
Everything on there for .22LR is backordered to hell, and wayyyyy overpriced.
User avatar #41 to #40 - DasSpiel (06/06/2013) [-]
You won't be having any luck with .22lr for a very long time, my friend.

The internet is your friend.
You need to login to view this link has what you're looking for, just make sure your wallet is prepared in case you want the good **** . You can get the cheap stuff for about $6 a box, it's just a gamble on how good the quality is.

gun shows my friend. you can find as much of whatever you may need.
User avatar #98 to #28 - stegovii (06/06/2013) [-]
Well now you can, but when the ban was first initiated, that **** was dry.
User avatar #45 to #28 - Lambda (06/06/2013) [-]
There's no .223 anywhere in New England. Even .22 is getting a little rare. People are grabbing up whatever they can find.
A friend of mine decided to order a case of .223 online from an ammo manufacturer. Took him 6 months to get it.

I honestly didn't even know there was an ammo shortage. What's causing it?
User avatar #53 to #14 - fantomen (06/06/2013) [-]
Panic buying for the whole ban thing, also the DHS bought 1.6 billion rounds recently.
User avatar #97 to #14 - jimmyprice (06/06/2013) [-]
the government in the U.S is trying to buy as much ammo as they can to try and keep it out of the hands of the american people
#16 to #14 - silasP (06/06/2013) [-]
Panic after hearing about new bans on "assault weapons" earlier in the year. Folks with guns buying up every bullet, shell, and charge in sight. All I'll say about it on here, lest we have a ********* on our hands.
User avatar #22 to #14 - sausydangles (06/06/2013) [-]
There is only a shortage on 9mm, .223/5.56, and .40 S&W because the DHS is creating an artificial ammo shortage on top of the already high demand. Just google DHS bullet purchases. My buddy has an AK and he's still buying ammo for nearly the same price and in bulk because the DHS can't buy rounds for guns they don't use.
#27 to #22 - anon (06/06/2013) [-]
That is what I've been hearing. A news station had an interview with a local police station in my area, and they said that they can't even train people with live ammo as the federal government has been buying up so much of it that they can't even find the ammo they need. I really dislike this DJ 4DM1Nistration on so many levels on their domestic policy.
User avatar #96 to #22 - mrbuu (06/06/2013) [-]
there is no ak ammo at walmart wait there never is.
User avatar #26 to #22 - mrdavidt (06/06/2013) [-]
In Montana there is also a shortage of .22.
User avatar #29 to #26 - sausydangles (06/06/2013) [-]
I haven't had a problem getting .22, .223 has been a pain in the ass. A store near me carries it but limits everyone to one box per day but at least that keeps the price down
#47 to #29 - devildogpratt (06/06/2013) [-]
yeah, .223 has been pretty scarce. Happy I bought my 500 round bulk at Cabelas for $140 a year ago
User avatar #31 to #29 - mrdavidt (06/06/2013) [-]
5.56 isn't my problem. I got that **** stocked.
#15 to #14 - omnipotentsoap (06/06/2013) [-]
every time there is a gun ban people panic and rush to buy as much ammo as possible because gun shops don't normally sell ammo for banned guns
#74 to #15 - anon (06/06/2013) [-]
That and somewhere between every 10-15years, all the federal agencies put in their resupply orders at the same ******* time. Also, recently talking to the owner of my local funstore, the distributors are holding back as well to jack up the prices from the increased demand.
#21 to #15 - anon (06/06/2013) [-]
They still sell as much ammo as they always do, but they can't restock quick enough for the demands of the crazy ammo buying.
User avatar #1 - copenhagen (06/05/2013) [-]
Pretty much yea. Haven't seen any ammo in weeks...
User avatar #3 to #1 - fantomen (06/05/2013) [-]
I know a guy with well over 600lbs of ammo, and he never shoots either.
If I need something I'll just call him up and ask nicely and he'll usually hand over a few boxes free of charge.

Are you trolling?

I nz you must have a gun license to get rifles and ammo. You have to get police checks and family checks to get rifles. You cannot buy pistols in NZ either.
Hence, we have one of the lowest killing rates per capita in the world
User avatar #65 to #62 - mikhailovych (06/06/2013) [-]
Are you high?
To get a gun license all you require is to be 16, have 80 dollars and pass a basic security check
The cops come around once per year to check you keep it all locked up and you have a gun-safe and you can buy handguns in New Zealand, You need to login to view this link based in wellington and they ship all over New Zealand
And you do understand that a class A covers all Bolt action, single shot, lever action and pump action shotguns and rifles? for 4300 dollars I can buy a Remington police grade sniper rifle designed to kill at ranges of 1 kilometre or less, that is slack as anything
#106 to #65 - fatoneateone (06/07/2013) [-]
I meant non-air pistols. And yea a rifle, you cannot buy an automatic weapon ie an assult rifle
User avatar #107 to #106 - mikhailovych (06/07/2013) [-]
You can buy a handgun all it requires is a Class B license, and we don't need automatics, you can get a Class E license which allows you to purchase semi-automatic shotguns and rifles, that alone can do a severe amount of damage
User avatar #66 to #65 - mikhailovych (06/06/2013) [-]

#37 to #23 - dorklordrises (06/06/2013) [-]
So much this. In the sense that I know many people who have never left New Zealand and don't really appreciate it too much. Nobody I know who has spent time living outside of New Zealand doesn't think it is an amazing country.

Apparently it's ******* impossible to get a reasonably priced box of 7.62x39 in Edmonton. Oh they have it, but all they have is that brand name **** . ***** , I am not going to spend $20 on a box of 20.
