I think the glass breaking took some of the force from the fall off the cat... still probably hurt like hell.

Most cats have a non-lethal terminal velocity. You could drop them out of an air plane and they might break a leg. So long as they don't hit their head, they would most likely live.

cats always land on the feet (unless you hold them one centimeter from the floor upside down) so yes they are immortal

The glass they use in car windshields is extremely though.
It's two pieces of hardened glass glued to a sheet of strong flexible plastic.
I've broken hammers trying to smash them I was part of my old job. (inb4 thief).

So I doubt it did much to brake the fall.

But I'm surprised that the windshield broke that easily, maybe it had a crack in it, or it was subjected to damage from heat changes.

I am pretty impressed by myself... I can spot an anime by some text and a bump in a car.

The cat had an instant shot of adrinaline. Just like a drug junkey it broke its bones, but didnt feel a thing and wandered off some meters untill it went down to die.

false, cat's have fallen from greater heights and left unharmed. the things they land on does not.
#13 - anon (06/02/2013) [-]
Cats are the largest animal with a non-lethal terminal velocity.

for real? like they can survive a fall from ANY height?

User avatar #32 to #22 - thegrimreaver (06/02/2013) [-]
Indeed. For a cat, falling from less than 30 feet is actually more dangerous for them than falling from anything above 30 feet. This is because it takes them about 30 feet to reorient themselves, and spread out, thus slowing their velocity.
User avatar #37 to #32 - misfitsftw (06/02/2013) [-]
so skysrapers? airplanes? this seems too incredible to be true
User avatar #38 to #37 - thegrimreaver (06/02/2013) [-]
A cat falling from 45,000 feet will be just as fine as it is from 45 feet.
User avatar #54 to #38 - AdminsGayLover (06/02/2013) [-]
This is not completely true. Cat's have fallen from very long distances and been splattered on the ground. Cat's can survive incredible drops, yeah, because of their evolutionary adaptation to right themselves and absorb the shock from hitting the ground. However, higher falls also have more instances of head injuries and chest injuries.
There was a study I came across alot looking this up. It's from 1987 and was determined in the New York Animal Medical Center.
