"While what he did is good if the crime committed wasn't a felony, he is open to lawsuits."
"While what he did is good, if the crime committed wasn't a felony he is open to lawsuits."
Completely different meanings. This, children, is why punctuation is important.

false arrest and assault
User avatar #4 to #3 - thelordofbutthurt (05/14/2013) [-]
These kind of things should go unpunished man... The penal system needs to seperate this frivolous crap from straight justice. Small simple moral laws over tiny intricate detailed laws that lead to loopholes.

Also judges be corrupt as **** (some... some are amazing people who would risk their career if it meant what was right.)
User avatar #5 to #4 - sketchE (05/14/2013) [-]
the irony of that is if that was a cop someone would be saying abuse of power. but i do agree. like the person who broke his ankle while robbing a place sued the home owner and won. the purpose of those two laws is to cut back on vigilante justice. if citizens arrest could be used on misdemeanors i guarantee youd see people assault anyone who makes the alarm go off in a walmart
User avatar #6 to #5 - thelordofbutthurt (05/14/2013) [-]
thats true enough... but it should be viewed by the gravity of the crime that made the alarm go off.

User avatar #7 to #6 - sketchE (05/14/2013) [-]
but not everyone is going to think that. most wont care about the crime theyll just think hey i can beat someone and feel self ritious im all for that
User avatar #8 to #7 - thelordofbutthurt (05/14/2013) [-]
Also true... The penal system is so flawed >.>

People need to actually sit down and talk about this.
User avatar #14 to #8 - dedaluminus (05/14/2013) [-]
Not to mention the owner of the car suing BOTH of them for denting his fender.

Yup, it depends on which attorney you get and what Judge you get.

You can get the best attorney in the world and it wont' mean **** if you get a corrupt/uncorrupt judge.

The judge I work for doesn't give a crap who your attorney is. He just wants to do what the law says but it's up to the attorneys to make sure their clients' rights are protected and that all evidence is presented to him legally so he won't be corrupt.

And then the thief sues him for assault.
User avatar #41 to #38 - ScottP (05/15/2013) [-]
Yeah, strange how criminals can sue. I never understood why they're given that right.

Yep it happened in France because Paris won a Football (soccer) game and it turn into riot then. This thing (what happens on the .gif) is the first thing my flatmate talked about when I woke up this morning (at noon).

I'm ashamed of my own country ... And thoose ******* are proud of them.
User avatar #22 to #20 - willcutting (05/14/2013) [-]
User avatar #25 to #22 - ragnagna (05/14/2013) [-]
Ouais.
User avatar #27 to #25 - willcutting (05/14/2013) [-]
User avatar #28 to #27 - ragnagna (05/14/2013) [-]
User avatar #29 to #28 - willcutting (05/14/2013) [-]
User avatar #30 to #29 - ragnagna (05/14/2013) [-]

Wait, they won, so they rioted? "Our nation won! That pisses me off so much I want to smash **** !"
User avatar #23 to #21 - willcutting (05/14/2013) [-]
Not even a nation bro just the supporters of the PSG (Which is the Parisian Football Club). And yep, I found this deeply stupid.

This happenned in France (cause I'm living there). The video was shown in the medias. Right after sweeping the dude, the cop used his police baton while the robber was lying on the floor. But that face hitting the car made me giggle a bit I must say

Congratulations for being able to read that ****** language , even though it's well written. You'll often see french badly written, like 80% of the time. Those guys above me are like heroes to me
#16 to #15 - John Cena (05/14/2013) [-]
if this was America, the owner of the car would have sued the tripping man.
#24 - John Cena (05/14/2013) [-]
In Holland that guy would get arrested for "attacking" the suspects
User avatar #33 to #24 - mrgoodlove (05/14/2013) [-]
But suspects are "suspected" of a crime. This guy clearly looks like he's fleeing the scene of the crime which makes him look guilty to onlookers
#37 - DANKNOFAM (05/14/2013) [-]
The reason why a lot of people don't get involved is because the criminal would sue you/attempt to prosecute you for assault
