In all fairness... Al Qaeda is not a country... It is a group located in many countries, including Iraq..

On a related note, yes. Iraq was fail. Afghanistan is fail. Our presence there is fail.. You cant help people who dont want help.
User avatar #39 to #25 - thegamegestapo (05/04/2013) [-]
Al- Qaeda isn't a group. It's a blanket term used to describe all Islamic extremists based on a court case after the US Embassy bombings. The "group" Al-Qaeda was created by the FBI prosecutors so the could nail Bin Laden under existing organised crime laws.

How did we fail in Iraq? Their dictator was hung and they're holding free elections.
If we lost, who the Hell won?
#58 to #36 - anonymous (05/04/2013) [-]
No one one.

Iraq went from bad to worse as America turned into the country into a war zone to settle it's deal with Al-Qaeda. Now Iraq is a broken country that's infested with terrorist.

The Iraqis just traded one evil for one that's far worse.

Good job America.

A few things:
>Hanged, not hung
>Do you mean the Free elections that are putting the Bathist Party back in charge or the puppet governments installed by the US led coalition?
>As for who won: BigOil, Israel, and the military industrial complex. Not to mention any terrorist recruiter anywhere.

Right in the Freedom

It doesn't even ******* matter. All Muslims are god damn terrorists, even American ones. They're disgusting humans too. For some reason they ALL constantly smell like absolute **** , it's horrendous. And god damn are they hairy as **** ... they have those annoying ass accents too when they try to speak English and fail miserably. they need to stay the **** in their own **** hole countries (all middle eastern countries are **** holes). These are the 3 jobs for a middle eastern: Terrorist, 7/11, taxi driver. But almost all of them choose to be a terrorist.

correction, you hate muslims so much you are going to call them all terrorists
#60 to #45 - anonymous (05/04/2013) [-]
They are terrorists. The entire middle east is one giant **** hole and needs to be blown off the face of the Earth, then we can go back there and settle it again. It'll be better off. The only place that's a better **** hole on earth than the middle east is Africa... and that's really not saying a lot.

All the WMD's America claimed Iraq had were never found.
The CIA main informant, an Iraqi traitor named Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi whose "word" was the main reasoning of the CIA that Iraq had WMD's, claimed that he had worked as a chemical engineer at a plant that manufactured WMD's.

His allegations were subsequently shown to be false by the Iraq Survey Group's final report published in 2004.

And in 2011 even he admitted he lied.

As for Kuwait, that was way long ago in 1991. Iraq paid for it by the sanctions inflicted on it by the UN, which caused the death of 100,000 to 500,000 dead children from famine as a direct result of famine.

Horrrrray, hundreds of thousands of dead children. That was a great solution.
#34 to #11 - anonymous (05/04/2013) [-]
Chemical weapons are banned for pain, not deadliness (just like torture, oh wait).
We already had a war with them over Kuwait.

You people need to stop making up excuses and accept that the Iraq war was a bad decision.

I rarely swear, but you are just too stupid...

NO ******* **** .
They are called weapons last I checked.
A properly used pencil could kill you, guns could kill you, tanks could kill you, non-nuclear bombs could kill you.

You DO NOT invade a country, ****** tens of thousands of its innocent civilians (and tens of thousands more who are combatants, not all of whom are terrorists), ruin their economy, ruin your own economy, and create MORE terrorism through proving your tyranny to the youth of those countries just to remove something that can kill people.

Or should I invade your house just because you have a gun which "could kill me."

And Iraq didn't have WMDs.

Because iraq totally didn't harbor terrorists and use chemical weapons right guys?

SO NOW, the country is ACTUALLY filled with terrorists.
#51 to #8 - anonymous (05/04/2013) [-]
so what? is it our international duty to free every people from dictators at our expense with no provocation? Many countries harbor terrorists and many also have access to chemical weapons. we dont have the funds or the manpower to invade all of those countries, or at least it will cost more than we are willing to sacrifice. If people want to get rid of a bad dictator they need to do it the old fashion way with revolution. Revolutions legitimize everything, and we cangive aid in those cases. If we go in and force democracy because we deemed a regime to be despotic then the people will hate us because we invaded them. If they start it and we support them then they will like us. Only the people can choose their sovereign.
#37 to #8 - anonymous (05/04/2013) [-]
all i can say is you're all dumb ***** .

Every ******* coutry has their terrorists wether they're islamic or not, and yes saddam did use chemical weapons on his own people, but how did this in any way influenced the us?? "Didn't the us really came to save them", would some dumb ***** say; the answer is no. and thos weapons of massdestruction were never found, so the war wasn't legal, ******** .

They were there for ************* oil, accept that the biggest terroristic country is the USA and now get some **** food to eat and watch ********** media in a **** owned country, goyims
#28 to #8 - anonymous (05/04/2013) [-]
So now we've downgraded from "Iraq is the center of Al-quida, Osama Bin Laden, and possesses a nuclear arsenal," to "Iraq has some terrorists in its borders, and has chemical weapons? (Which are WWI era tech by the way, and while unnecessarily painful, banned due to that pain, are not weapons of mass destruction.)"

Nice hindsight there. Those of us who actually realize the cost of war, and aren't so ignorant to view the entire population of the Middle East as innately evil knew this well before the war.

By the way, if those are your criteria for invasion, terrorists and weapons, we pretty much have to invade every single country on Earth now.
#24 to #8 - stratotastic (05/04/2013) [-]
Not like America sold them those Chemical weapons, right?
User avatar #12 to #8 - raidaltamimi (05/04/2013) [-]
WUT?! Well ....i think the media are doing there job perfectly!
User avatar #18 to #12 - multimedia (05/04/2013) [-]
They did use chemical weapons though. That's not a media fantasy.
#30 to #18 - anonymous (05/04/2013) [-]
And?
Chemical weapons are banned because they are excessively cruel.
Just like torture.
...
And waging religious wars against an entire population due to seeing them as evil incarnate for not following your religion.
...
And harboring people with strangely terroristic names,
Hussein Obama

Well I guess we know who's going to get invaded next.
User avatar #7 - msmermaid (05/04/2013) [-]
I've heard that if you take your shirt off while fighting then teachers can't pull you off until police arrive because it can be considered sexual assault. Don't know how true that is.

Considering the American judicial system that sounds plausible.

In case the guy wanted to fight back, he'd have no leverage.
User avatar #35 to #3 - kidel (05/04/2013) [-]
What prominant said. Whoever said it is to "show of force" is wrong, unless some idiots have taught it to others. People showing off are just morons, well, in come cases. Only counts for swaggots mostly. "Oh hey, look at my pumped up muscles and my six pack! I can beat the hell out of you!", just show them a needle and threaten to burst their muscles, they'll scream like the swaggots they are.
