gotta love Dwarf Hamsters.

Both of my dwarf hamsters would do something like this when trying to use the wheel at the same time. They were mean hamsters though and would draw blood biting you every time someone picked them up.

Wow, surprised people haven't ever seen these. We've been putting em around our shed and in our barn forever. Take an old 5-gallon bucket that came with pesticides or some **** after it's empty, put about 4 inches of water in the bottom, drill 2 holes, put an old arrow through a bottle or beer can or something, schmeer with peanut butter, and it will kill mice forever as long as you keep adding peanut butter. Plus I see it as a way to kind of help Darwin along, considering it usually does get eaten by the especially crafty mice, while the dumbasses jump on and fall.

Not especially humane, but it's cheap, and it's a farm anyways, rubber-banding cow-dicks til they fall off is standard procedure.

Have you ever tried using beer to bate them? (inb4 what a waste of beer). I read that mice are very attracted to the scent of beer. If you get a similar bucket like you said and fill it a quarter of the way with beer, then place a ladder for them to get in, they'll drown after a while.
#113 to #6 - anon (04/20/2013) [-]
Yeah, keep doing that until only super-intelligent, extra-agile mice exists and decide to take revenge on us. Thank you very much.
User avatar #11 to #6 - dafq (04/20/2013) [-]
Same here, I used these at camp when I staffed there. We had a really weak winter before so mice were everywhere. The best part is we had some left alive swimming to feed to the snakes.

As for that being the kinder and more humane way to capture mice/rats (for the benefit of catch and release), I love this idea and would totally do it if I had a rat/mouse problem.

But I would never get rid of them, because I would adopt them all :3

>Be 19 at home, suddenly mum is screaming
>Me and dad come running to find she's been startled by a mouse
>About an hour of the pair of us running around the room trying to catch it.
>Leave it and trap it in the room till the next day we bring home a humane trap
>Eventually caught it climbing up the wall behind the curtain.
>onlythefirstwave.jpeg
>More and more mice started showing up
>Mum gets pissed, puts poisoned seeds down everywhere
>Spend my time trying to catch them and release them down the street into the field
>One night dad comes in after catching one in the kitchen
>"Anon go and take this mouse down the road"
>It's 10pm and i'm in my stuff I wear for bed
>Shrug, no big deal it's dark no one will see me
>Proceed to carry a mouse in my hands down the street wearing slippers
>Get to the main road, cars driving by people staring at me
>Get to the field and deposit the mouse by the tree start to head home
>Feel like the drivers are still watching me
>Get half way down my street home suddenly someone opens their front door
> Immediately panic somehow hopped out of my slippers and ran the rest of the way
>Just left my slippers in front of someones house, too embarrassed to go get them
>Dad asks where is my slippers
>Told them the mouse ate them...
>He still gives me an odd look now and again

<- Picture related, actual picture of the first mouse we caught. I named him/her Speedy.
