I'm playing Bioshock at the moment and I noticed this too. Jack can eat multiple cakes, bags of chips, cups of coffee in a matter of seconds. Guy must be close to diabetes.

Prepare yourself for a countering opinion you may not like.

I expected more out of bioshock.

It's such a beautiful game and ridiculously fun to play. The plot was not what I expected from it, and was such less than what I wanted to get from the game. I feel like the trailers and hype for it was not what it turned out to be. The plot was just kind of messed up at some points in my opinon, and it is criminally short (er than I expected). The first half of the game seemed more fun to me than the last half, especially the first segment. I had some of the most fun with the game before I even fired a shot (which was quite a bit of time!) While bioshock was cramped, atmospheric, and scavengy, infinite is wide open, a bit more linear I thought, and it's not much of an RPG anymore with elizabeth providing you with ridiculous amounts of everything. Take from that what you want. I'm not sure if it's better or worse than bioshock, but it is most definitely very different.

Now, if you think any of this means that you don't have a reason to get this game, then you're sorely mistaken. It's one of the best things I've ever played, I just made the mistake of being very optimistic about it and being a bit disappointed rather than being completely blown away by it.

I was expected to be blown away with the gameplay the trailers and demos promised and never got it. I was disappointed. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it.

I actually agree a lot. Even though I loved the characters and thought it had one of the best stories ever, the game relied solely on combat. It's way too violent for the environment.

The game was much more different than the E3 2011 demo. I honestly thought that the shots from Game Informer and the demo were going to be in the game. But infact, it wasn't. I was quite disappointed, but the story is pretty good.
User avatar #175 to #124 - joehue (04/09/2013) [-]
If you beat the game you may notice that they make a reference to the first gameplay demo at the ending(In a brilliant way I may add).... I'm not telling you more then that since it would be super spoilers, but just keep that in mind.

That was my intention. You don't play it, you are absorbed into the body of Booker DeWitt, you feel totally involved in the gameplay, and some situations are complete ********* . Especially the tears.

I disagree, the first two were better imo. Coming from one who recently played 1, then infinite and then number 2. The story in bioshock one is brilliantly executed and pretty amazing. It's well balanced with the combat as well. Then there's bioshock 2. The combat is far great than the one in bioshock 1, but I feel the story isn't much better than bioshock 1. Then there's infinite. The gameplay wasn't nearly as good compared to the two first games, the interface was a bit bad. Like, only being able to carry two vigors and two weapons was a huge let-down. I didn't feel the need to use vigors what so ever either. It was still awesome gameplay, but compared to the others. Definitely not. The story was also pretty cool and beautifully tied together with the other games without depending too much on the game. Meaning you could play infinite only without getting the other games spoiled or anything.

I need to finish bioshock 2 completely though in order to judge it properly, but so far. I still think it's better than infinite.
User avatar #237 to #186 - lewersss (04/10/2013) [-]
You have access to all of your vigors, but you can only have 2 equipped. Combat tears were a good idea, and I'm not entirely sure how you coped with not using vigors, when you upgrade them a bit they can be OP as **** .
User avatar #238 to #237 - tylosaurus ONLINE (04/10/2013) [-]
Yeah, you can, but only two equipped. It got confusing to switch through them. I agree on the tears.
No, they weren't really useful.. Only used them on strong enemies.
User avatar #239 to #238 - lewersss (04/10/2013) [-]
I can see similarities between the enemies in Infinite and the splicers in 1. I just set traps everywhere then shoot one in the head and laugh as they all explode whilst being attacked by crows and I absorb any stray fire then send it back. Vigors OP.
User avatar #240 to #239 - tylosaurus ONLINE (04/10/2013) [-]
Nah, salts were used quite fast, so it was better to save them for tough enemies. Really, I could easily take them down with my carbine and handcannon fully upgraded. There just were so many enemies.
#223 to #186 - maccally (04/09/2013) [-]
Let's take a second to think about things: Could you possibly carry a full sized sinper rifle, two different kinds of high-powered rifles, two individual shotguns, a heavy pistol, two machine guns, a light pistol, RPG, and two essentially grenade launchers?
It makes much more sense in my opinion to only be able to carry two weapons...
#236 to #223 - tylosaurus ONLINE (04/10/2013) [-]
Yeah, because you don't have your arm strapped into a skyhook constantly and it's not like you're on a flying city with time traveling twins and it's not like you're a huge glutton that eats candy and what not constantly. If we limited us to what we can do in real life, we'd have some really ******* boring games. Just because it's slightly more realistic, then that doesn't mean it's better.

The first one really adds to this one, there's a lot of references you won't get if you haven't played the first one.

The second one isn't nearly as good, but it's still okay. It's just okay while the other two are pretty close to perfect.
