Arthur Conan Doyle was good friends with Houdini.
However, Doyle was a big believer in magic, and refused to accept it when Houdini said that escapology was a trick.

Doyle fell out with Houdiini. Who the **** stops being friends with Houdini?!

Doyle was actually shockingly stupid. He was duped by two young girls into believing that they had actually taken pictures of fairies.

Tough to believe that someone like that managed to create a character like Sherlock Holmes who is one of the most intelligent and logical fictional characters.
