I'm really glad OP specified it being a "dramatization". Man, that was scary for a second there.

thanks for letting me know it was a dramatization in the description, at first I thought these were just a way for the dough boy to get revenge on people poking him so much

its biscuits wrapped up in an unwrappable cylinder container, and usually when you first start to unwrap it, it sort of just springs open and unravels really fast. its like when bread pops out of the toaster kind of surprise

canned biscuits have a pressure seal that usually takes a blow or two to pop. Sometimes, the wrapper and temperature of the surrounding air pop the pressure sealed can as the wrapper is being removing, usually startling the person holding it.

They're raw biscuits wrapped in cardboard, somewhat thin cardboard and sometimes when trying to open the package it bursts unexpectedly. Sometimes a simple pop or a good hefty pop that's slightly startling along with dropping some of the dough.

I think the only reason it bursts is because people aren't opening them right away after taking them out of the fridge, if they sit out for a while they warm up slightly and start to swell a bit building pressure. Because as a kid I'd see my mom unwrapping them and then having to smack it on the edge of the counter to split the cardboard.

sorry for the novel explanation
