MFW a kid talks back to a teacher. Hehehe. ya... Might get reds for saying this, but I seriously hate when kids give teachers a hard time. Especially substitutes, they just don't deserve it.

It's totally true. I know I sound like a condescending douche bag, but I hate when kids say "BUT I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING11" all the time. If it was just once, and you actually didn't do anything to deserve the teacher's rage, fine. But if you were just talking your ass off a moment ago when the teacher already told you to stop, don't expect any sympathy from me.

I agree, until the point where a teacher is in a bad mood and when a certain person may have done absolutely nothing wrong and snaps at them, then I say

The only thing i dont like about alot of teachers is the undesearved amout of respect the feel they are entitled to, dont get me wrong teachers desearve respect just as much as anyother person but not when they talk down to you or treat you like you're less strickly because they are in a place of power.
#35 to #33 - anon (02/06/2013) [-]
But you ARE LESS, thats the entire reason teachers exist! Molding your silly little head from "less" to "more"!
User avatar #41 to #35 - randumbgamer (02/06/2013) [-]
im not talking about kida in like grade 7 im talking more highschool, a good portion of those kids have full time jobs, their own cars, bills to pay. Im not saying they are adults but that they are well on their way. It would make alot more sence to start treating them as such, rather then continually trying to assert your athourity. A student is way more likely to want to do work in a class for a teaacher they respect and actually have somewhat of a relationship with. Dont get me wrong alot of them are **** heads and i dont blame the teacher for the way the react but i think they are often to quick to judge
User avatar #24 to #21 - heartlessrobot (02/06/2013) [-]
I agree, especially when the teacher/bus driver/lunch aid is just doing their ******* job and some asshole is making things difficult, like when kids are texting in class and refuse to hand the phone in when they are inevitably caught.
User avatar #45 to #24 - savirleo (02/06/2013) [-]
Reminds me of highschool. There was one kid that apparently said he was gonna kill another student. He got called out to the hallway, said he didn't do it, then told the teacher that his job, and I quote, "is to make your retarded ass look old"
Don't know what happened to that kid

I'm a teacher now, and used to be a substitute teacher. I love teaching, I really do. There is nothing in the world I would rather be doing with my life (except maybe be a pokemon master). But substitute teaching sucks. It is a terrible job, but I needed the money and didn't get my teaching licence in time to apply to a school. Subbing for high school was the worst. There's nothing more frustrating than being trying to do your job, and you're being disrespected just because you walked through the door as a sub. And as a young, female teacher some days I was even borderline sexually harassed by male students who would make crude comments.

Yes, some teachers are terrible and might deserve grief. But most are just trying to do their job. Remember, NO PERSON becomes a teacher because of the pay(which is low), or the hours(which are long) or because it is easy(which is a lie). People become teachers because the love teaching kids and they genuinely care about their students.

Sorry for the rant. Had to represent.

That's not completely true, there are some that do it just for a job, but then again there's always people in every field that do things just for the money, I'm going to be a teacher too and believe me, teacher's wage is more than I've ever seen in my life, both family wise and personal. but I am doing it because I love helping people and I especially love passing on knowledge.
User avatar #76 to #54 - delphine (02/07/2013) [-]
That's true too. I guess it also depends on where you live. My salary is about $24,500/year (my state is statistically the lowest in the nation for teacher pay)... Which is still a very good salary but with additional bills and costs of living it's been tough to save anything for future plans. But I will have to say the benefits-- health care, dental plan, etc-- are amazing. And I know a colleague of mine who should retire (he's burnt out, mean to the kids, doesn't engage them in quality lessons) but doesn't because he's in poor health and wants the health insurance.

Now that I'm out of high school, I totally get how frustrating teaching must be, especially when you're being perfectly reasonable and students are still acting like immature little **** faces. Of course, I also understand that it's hilarious to act like that as a student (if I remember correctly).

What REALLY bothers me is when I talk to old friends from grade school and they still think everything we did was justified. They honestly believe all the substitute teachers "had it coming" just for walking into the room.
User avatar #56 to #53 - capnwetnipples (02/06/2013) [-]
you should by a sledge hammer write grammer hammer on it and any time a kid says aint, or says aks instead of ask, or says like mor that twice in one sentance just ******* smash their desk...or face whatever.
