There's no point of a remake for Evil Dead. It was good because it was Bruce Campbell beating the **** out of himself in a room for forty minutes. It's not like anybody watched it for the plot. Another example of movie makers missing the point.
User avatar #57 to #40 - froggets (12/30/2012) [-]
The trailer made the movie look pretty decent, except for the fact that it shoulnd't be called Evil Dead (remake) since they don't have Ash in it... Ash is such an awesome character!
User avatar #64 to #40 - thedudeistheman (12/30/2012) [-]
The remake looks good from what I can tell of the trailer, but it'll be hardly anything like the original. Obviously they have the cabin, and the Raping Tree is back, but I don't know what else is there from the original.

Thanks for sharing.
As it seems it's going to brutal just like The Sinister.
#51 to #42 - thatfuego (12/30/2012) [-]
how was sinister made it like 20-30 minutes in and decided to go skiing, and I was trying to figure out if it was worth continuing
User avatar #52 to #51 - basstard (12/30/2012) [-]
It was pretty brutal to me and well made.
Woman in black is just full of jumpscares, but has a good ol' ghost story.
#53 to #52 - thatfuego (12/30/2012) [-]
woman in black was pretty good but I feel like when the show the "monster" or whatever is supposed to induce the horror too much, you become comfortable with it, and that's what happened with me with woman in black

unfortunately yes: its without bruce campbell and its going to suck

i think the trailer looks much to serious evil dead was a fun splatter flick

Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness were fun splatter flicks. Evil Dead 1 was meant to be a serious horror movie.

Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness aren't meant to be horror films.
Sam Raimi meant for them to be funny.
The only one he took seriously that was actually meant to be a horror was the first Evil Dead where the girl gets raped by a tree.
#115 to #60 - PopeyeBITCHES (12/31/2012) [-]
I know the other two were meant to be funny but there were still some jump scare scenes and bruce is the man no matter what...i have no hopes for the re-make

John Carpenter's The Thing.
In my opinion, the puppetry in this movie beats CGI anyday.

User avatar #98 to #96 - aesis (12/30/2012) [-]
The fact it was so disgusting makes it such a great movie.
#106 to #87 - nebuchadnezzaurus (12/30/2012) [-]
I love both the puppetry for the "physicality" it provides, like knowing that it's a real, tangible substance, and CGI for the fluidity of the animation. I enjoyed the 2011 The Thing very much, I thought it was very interesting, fast-paced and it paid huge amounts of tribute to the original. It might interest you to know that the filmmakers were originally going with puppet animation and the studio they hired to do it actually made lots of props by the time Universal changed their minds and told them to go all-digital. It's sad that many of the props and puppets ended up never being used, even though they were really, really well-done.
Pic related, it's one of the other pro's of the 2011 film

The man is a genius, he could get you into the movie even without the fancy graphics.
Escape from L.A. is my personal favorite

I was watching that movie online, when it got to that scene I was drinking a glass of water and spit it out all over my computer because it caught me so off-guard. I couldn't stop laughing for like 5 minutes. I ******* loved Evil Dead.
