Of the ones I've seen, this is the order from favorite to less so (they're all good though):

My Neighbor Totoro
Castle In The Sky
Spirited Away
Kiki's Delivery Service
Howl's Moving Castle
Porco Rosso
The Secret World of Arrietty
The Cat Returns ( **** was crazy)

Then I didn't really care for Ponyo.

User avatar #26 to #25 - theavatarspupil (12/18/2012) [-]
Really? That doesn't really sound like something Studio Ghibli would make.... but it still sounds awesome!
User avatar #27 to #26 - thatonesouthernkid (12/18/2012) [-]

If you like Miyazaki, give the films of Satoshi Kon a try.

Paprika (gif is from there)
Millennium Actress
Tokyo Godfathers
Perfect Blue

All ******* gorgeous and moving. More adult overall than Miyazaki. Sadly he died few years ago at only 46.

I watched it with my little sister years ago and ended up face down on the floor, clutching the DVD box, trying not to cry like a tiny child

I watched spirited away last week and i still dont get it...

and the dragon kid Haku looked like a younger Howl
User avatar #57 to #56 - mrpeepee (12/18/2012) [-]
It's about a girl who was cursed by a witch, which turned her into an old woman. She then went off on an adventure to find the cure for the curse and, in doing so, found a wizard named howl and his moving castle which she decided to clean and stay with while searching for the cure
User avatar #58 to #57 - LSone (12/18/2012) [-]
Thats howls moving castle. i know that but im confused about Spirited Away
#61 to #58 - mrpeepee (12/18/2012) [-]
oops, my bad! So, spirited away is about a girl moving to the countryside. On their way to their new home the girl and her parents found a tunnel which leads to an abandoned amusement park. There, the parents saw freshly cooked food in one of the stands. Hungry, the parents ate the food even though the girl said not to. She then saw lights and people emerging from the stands when it dark. She then decided to go explore while leaving her parents to eat the food. And I forgot the rest of the story up until she needs to turn her parents back into humans and get out of that world but in the mean while she stays/works at a hot springs/spa/herbal baths sort of place
User avatar #62 to #61 - LSone (12/18/2012) [-]
its fine i just dont understand the no face guy and a bunch of other stuff about the movie
User avatar #74 to #62 - lewersss (12/18/2012) [-]
It's an anime, you don't need to understand it.
User avatar #63 to #62 - mrpeepee (12/18/2012) [-]
Well, no face is just a lonely and greedy spirit who wants somebody to be with him
User avatar #64 to #63 - LSone (12/18/2012) [-]
ok but what about the twin sister grandma?? dahfuq she come from?
User avatar #65 to #64 - mrpeepee (12/18/2012) [-]
Ok, the first grandma (The evil one) uses her magic for greed and riches, while the good one helps people
User avatar #66 to #65 - LSone (12/18/2012) [-]
ok yeah but it just seems like the second one was just thrown in...
User avatar #67 to #66 - mrpeepee (12/18/2012) [-]
Yeah, I think the makers half-assed it after she escaped
User avatar #68 to #67 - LSone (12/18/2012) [-]
ok so im not the only one who thought that. I have talked to my friends about it and they think im crazy for being confused about the movie
User avatar #69 to #68 - mrpeepee (12/18/2012) [-]
You see, gibli studios is AWESOME at making anivies (animated movies) but I think it's because of the fatigue and not thinking about it long enough, they just threw in that quick ending or they just didn't want to make the movie THAT long
User avatar #70 to #69 - LSone (12/18/2012) [-]
Yeah true, they are normally really good i just couldnt understand some of the reasoning but thanks for the help lol
User avatar #71 to #70 - mrpeepee (12/18/2012) [-]
Just noticed that my last comment that you replied to was comment 69
User avatar #78 to #58 - hokeymon (12/18/2012) [-]
It's about a little girl and her parents who got spirited away in the spirit world and her parents ate the food of the spirits. The witch curse her parent into pigs and made a deal with the girl by working her ass off so she will turn her parents back to normal. Haku is a river spirit who's also in some kind of debt with the witch, minor details.
User avatar #53 - esmebuffay (12/18/2012) [-]
I realize it's an anime but I know almost nothing about Spirited Away besides that. What's it about? Everyone says it's so good so I figure I should check it out seeing as I have so much free time right now.
User avatar #49 - blackleather (12/18/2012) [-]
I like Howl's Moving Castle better.
User avatar #46 - kuthar (12/18/2012) [-]
Same, watching that just gives me a massive craving for chinese food.
