I really don't see why people made that GIF. He's obviously saying 'I'd love it" Whenever he was trying to persuade donna to stay with him.
User avatar #80 to #76 - temporalguardian (12/03/2012) [-]
it looks like he's saying? why are any gifs and dubs made then @_ @
User avatar #81 to #80 - grantika (12/03/2012) [-]
Well, it just doesn't look like he's saying "No" to me because I remember the scene vary clearly, and his mouth moves a lot more than it should just to say "No"

It's called "Big Dog." It's a program run by a Massachusetts firm of engineers funded by DARPA to make a four legged all terrain robot that can carry large loads over long distances, or track targets and destroy them (in the future). They also have "Little Dog" which is a robot about the size of a loaf of bread that looks similar to this. It's being developed for delivering ordinance and for surveillance.

Obviously its still in early development, but just wait 10 years... Kind of like a drone on land almost. Creepy too.

Sorry for the great wall of text, just spreading knowledge I guess.

Robot developed by U.S. military to carry heavy packs on ice and up hills ultimately through any terrain.

with the exception of flat terrain, apparently

That's ice.
#19 to #17 - dof (12/03/2012) [-]
Actually, it was developed by Boston Dynamics with funding from the Military.
It's called BigDog and it can carry 250 pounds through rugged terrain and up to 20 degrees of inclination.
#21 to #19 - Rascal (12/03/2012) [-]
Actually it's a gekko prototype and we're all ******

dof is right, and you are all idoits who state you misinformered ideas as facts.

That things name is big dog and it was made in the hopes that it will be able to serve as a robotic pack mule to accompany soldiers in terrain too rough for conventional vehicles
User avatar #102 to #5 - nebuchadnezzaurus (12/03/2012) [-]
It seems people here don't realise how complex this robot actually is. It's mind-boggling how much engineering probably went into Big Dog's ability to keep balance despite circumstances. Just its AI is better than that of any other robot I've ever seen.

Irrelevant, but Is this game worth it for the PC?
User avatar #141 to #134 - vladhellsing (12/03/2012) [-]
It's a decent 3rd-person shooter with fluid movement and gunsmithing mechanics, but nothing too amazing and nowhere near as intense or hardcore as previous games of the series (the first one in particular).

i srsly admire the amount of computational knowledge standing behind that robot. I am amazed that it can handle such a situation
