"This picture is in time with the average heart rate. What you’re hearing is the sound of your blood pumping, which you aren’t normally aware of. This picture tricks your mind into making yourself aware of your heart rate, so you hear it."

Sorry OP but thats not even close.
What youre hearing (if youre hearing anything) is simply a trick your brain is playing on you.
It's an example of your senses being related to each other in the brain. You see something and think "That would probably make a boom noise" and your brain naturally fills in the sound. It works on tons of gifs. Go ahead, watch one where I guy gets punched or runs into a wall. Can you hear it? Most likely.
For more interesting stuff on our eyes tricking our ears watch this (mostly speech perception stuff and the McGurk effect:

******** . I have an irregular heartbeat and I still heard it. It's the shaking that makes you imagine a sound that isn't there.

Most people's hearts beat at different rates. For example: more athletic people would have a slower resting heart beat. Smoking and drinking also changes the rate at which your heart beats. The shaking of the picture is what is actually causing the sound you hear.

My heart rate is actually much, much slower than this. the power thing jumps 4 times for every one of my heartbeats. Of course, I actually exercise, unlike the majority of people I know in my country.

I must be having a ******* heart attack or something. I have three beats per jump. Measured it.

Also, didn't hear anything.
