sorry but if you had to chase a van down a highway that was most likely firing a gun at you , and his reckless driving made him spin off the road due to his evasion of the law, and you were a cop, you might just be frustrated enough to get a few hits in yourself.

Regardless, punching an unconscious person multiple times in
the head is too far, especially after a car crash. Besides, what if
there wasn't any gunfire at all, just a high-speed chase?

my dad's a cop, and it's a really stressful job. you live to serve, but everyone hates you simply because of stereotypes. its like being a celebrity except you're actually useful and not spoiled.
