Nothing like that wont happen, because not even a single star collide with each other, spaces are just too big. I'm talking about upcoming collision of Milky Way and Andromeda. Source: books.

I'm not sure if I agree with you or not, because I can't make heads or tails of your post.

My other source only mentioned this "Although the galaxies will plow into each other, stars inside each galaxy are so far apart that they will not collide with other stars during the encounter." You are right. My bad.

They also predict that earth will survive. Like you said. The space between stars is so vast, they'll just slide between.
