Sooner or later we'll find a way to stop obesity, one of our genes must do the trick. I doubt we'll ever be able to find a solution to laziness.

This is incredibly relevant to me because my media studies class is studying Wall-E at the moment as part of an exam we are doing on dystopia.

Wow. We all lived at the wrong point in evolution.

I wish I was Darth Vader or a wizard...

Like #47 said, we'll eventually cure obesity.

Even now there are pills and methods that can cure obesity without exercise. In a civilization as advanced like the ones in Wall-E (Faster than light travel, Strong A.I, etc.) It'd be pretty ******* stupid to NOT have everything done the easy way. And obesity would just be another thing that we would eventually solve.

An animal, if fed a steady diet (no matter how healthy or otherwise) will adapt within around 8 generations to maintain a steady, healthy weight on that diet. It's not even going to be a problem in 150 years, because as long as we don't start eating exponentially more bad food, we'll be sweet.
User avatar #22 - biggrand (08/06/2012) [-]
we may evolve past our desire for food if we require energy less, as well possibly developing cells that eat fat if it gets in the way of our doing's. **** , one day we might be tomato's
#29 to #22 - mammalology (08/06/2012) [-]
we do eat fat.
User avatar #30 to #29 - biggrand (08/06/2012) [-]
imagine if we ate more
User avatar #31 to #30 - biggrand (08/06/2012) [-]
(ok yeah, i just realized what i said sounded kind of retarded)
#32 to #31 - mammalology (08/06/2012) [-]
I was meaning that our body already use stored fat for an energy source, it's how we survive.
User avatar #68 to #32 - badgoodass ONLINE (08/06/2012) [-]
Since the brain would need lots of energy to concentrate on multiple things at the same time it cuts down on energy and therefore we can only concentrate on up to 4 things at once.
But when this bitch gets its energy it's like "heeeeeell no, I better watch you turning into a hippo"
#69 to #68 - mammalology (08/06/2012) [-]
does your brain require energy to think, or just nourishment to survive?
User avatar #70 to #69 - badgoodass ONLINE (08/06/2012) [-]
It needs more energy the more things you concentrate on
That's why you can't concentrate on too much things, because otherwise you would probably need more food to think than to survive
#72 to #70 - mammalology (08/06/2012) [-]
i thought it was because we evolved that way so that we would have all our concentration on the task in-front of us.

The only thing that stops that from happening now is man's obsession with fitness because fitness gets him sex and sex stimulates the pleasure center of your brain
I agree with #47, we'll eventually find an instant cure for obesity and no matter how painful or dangerous it is, people will take it
+1
