What does everyone think about creatine?
User avatar #1600 to #1459 - lopaa (06/15/2012) [-]
From my personal experience i found that in terms of size and strength gains it was very impressive however i found i suffered from all the common side effects such as tight muscles, reduced flexibly, muscle cramps and it really dried out my joints even though i was drinking loads of water. Thing with creatine is thats its just water weight within two weeks of me coming off it i had lost 6 pounds and i wasn't able to lift no where near what i could before. Personally i would say if you're looking for quick gains its a good suppliment but on a long term basis i would say its a waste of time.

A couple weeks on and a couple weeks off seems to be the standard recommendation. The only supplement I ever used was whey protein, and that brought me some serious gains so I never really needed creatine.

Probarbly one of the best supplements i've ever used mate.

Started using it about 4 weeks ago now, gone up in strength so much, 5 weeks ago my max for Dumbbell shoulder press was 17.5kg DB's, now i'm comfortably on 35kg DB's.

I would highly recommend it.

Just drink a fuck load of water though, for your kidneys!

was the water weight noticable in the first few weeks or not? and if so how long until you lose that water weight?

So it isnt addicting,or anything like that?
User avatar #1473 to #1472 - eldeeko (06/13/2012) [-]
lol, not at all brah.

and the "Creatine, not even once" is a joke on /fit/ lol

I figured thats a joke, because i heard a shitton of good reccomenadtions about creatine, but some gymfags in my gym were shit talkin it

Straight monohydrate? Is the brand important?
User avatar #1476 to #1475 - eldeeko (06/13/2012) [-]
Brand means fuck all, i use a £8.00 tub from tesco's, as long as it's creatine, it's fine.

I use monohydrate, so i get a bit of a bloat on, if you use tablet form, you avoid the bloat, i like it, cause my arms look bigger lol

Do you need to go on and off of it?
User avatar #1478 to #1477 - eldeeko (06/13/2012) [-]
I havn't man, i just switched to a whey protein that has creatine in it anyway, so i can't really go off it now.

If you go off it, you have to do the loading phase again (25g a day, for 5 days instead of 5g a day)

So you end up using more creatine up like

And you only reccomend using it if using gy trainingbasically lifting heavy?

For hard bodyweight workouts it isnt good?
User avatar #1482 to #1481 - eldeeko (06/13/2012) [-]
Yeah i would only recommend for lifting weights, as it helps increase your strength, and so do more weights.

Don't go on it if your only doing DW exercises.

Alrighty,i might get it in september when i get to the Gym....is age relevant?
User avatar #1484 to #1483 - eldeeko (06/13/2012) [-]
i'dsay be at least 18+ bro
User avatar #1601 to #1484 - lopaa (06/15/2012) [-]
Thing is soon as you come of it you will piss away all your size and lose most of your strength for the 1st few months its a cool suppliment but after 3 months you will be telling a different story when your joints starts to suffer. I know this from personal experience before i get called a hating fag
