I'm trying to start a jogging routine.
I weigh around 260, and I SERIOUSLY need to lose some weight.
Does anyone have any advice they can offer me? My goal is to lose 60 pounds by the end of the year.
And if I can, even more. My ultimate goal is to go down to between 180 and 200.

Your diet is the most important thing to consider if you're going to lose weight.
Doesn't matter how much you exercise, at the end of the day you need to be eating less than you're burning.

Few tips from a nutrition major who keeps healthy.

1 - Take it in small steps. I'd suggest you begin with adding a vegetable or fruit to every meal. Stick to that for a week or so (doesn't matter if you miss a few meals, everybody makes mistakes). Once you've got that down, try cutting one bad food out of your diet. Start with something you know you can knock out easily. Progress from there. If you want to keep the weight off you'll do much better in the long run if you take it in small steps rather than rush into it.

2 - Keep up your fluids, dehydrating yourself impairs pretty much all of your bodily functions including metabolism. I'm talking water here. Not orange juice or sports drinks.

3 - Try to work activity into your day. Take stairs, if you're sitting at the computer perhaps jiggle your legs or do some tricep dips every now and then, if you're waiting for a bus stand up rather than sit down. Every little bit helps.

Hope that was helpful. Good luck mate! Give me a shout if you have questions.

Copy paste from an older post:

Plan your diet. If you want to lose weight you must know that 80% of your results will rely on your diet.

1: Water can do much more than just keep you healthy. It can keep your metabolism kicking and help you curb your cravings.

2: Quality over cuantity. Many people cautiously check the nutrition statements on their food, but do they know the difference between quality ingredients? You can count calories all you want, but if you are eating poor quality calories, your results will be limited at best. Imagine you have a clone, and that clone eats the same amount of calories but from chocolate bars. Now imagine you get all your calories from whole food. Who will look (and feel) better? You would look and feel better than your clone of course! This is an extreme example, but it doesn’t have to be that extreme.

3: Prepare your mind, this aint easy.

4: You may be shocked to hear that many people gain weight due to under eating. That’s right! The body is great at surviving, and if we under eat or starve ourselves, the body reacts by slowing down our metabolic rate. This means your body will try to store as much fat as possible on your body when you put it in starvation mode. I recommend eating six small meals throughout the day. This will ensure that your body has the proper nutrients it needs, thus prevent the body from attempting to store fat. If the body knows that food is not far away, it will not store large amount of fat around your mid section.
Now, this does not mean you can over eat or eat whatever you want. You will still need to eat a diet that is clean and has the proper macro nutrition ratios.

The best way to lose weight, is high intensity training.

Try interval.

3 days a week.

Basic program: walk/slow jogging in 10-15 sec then give it your best in 10-15 sec straight, then repeat in 10 min max 20 min. Dont push yourself too hard! We don't want shin splints do we?

That's basicly it, Good luck.

My sister is a pretty heavy girl and she only dates skinny guys.. I'm like wut? besides It dosent matter if youre fluffy Its really all in how you dress and how you carry yourself. And I know that its hard to have confidence when you're insecure. Thats why i compare myself to less attractive people. (thats a horrible and shallow thing to do) but thats what makes me feel better. And back on topic.. If im going to be with someone romanticly i dont want to cuddle with a lumpy sack of potatoes.. I want to hold a pillow c:

I usually wear jeans and t-shirts. Every day. Except for during summer, I usually wear jean shorts.
I learned during high school to stop caring what people think, so it's not that I'm not confident.
I have like... a small beer belly. It is indeed soft.

Well I'm not saying you should be obsessed with what people think and conform to society.. I by no means do that but I still make sure that i look good which is what counts. Dress how you want to dress but make sure it looks nice.

Well....if that's the case....
I jest. You probably are. I don't know too many women that go for the fluffy blokes. hell, if I was a chick, as long as they weren't grotesquely under/over weight, I wouldn't care. I hold the same values to women as a dude. I don't discriminate. Everyone's beautiful!
