I just got my hands on fallout 3 and I need your help. Whenever i exit through a door the screen just goes black. Is there any way to fix this? I run on windows 8. all help is appreciated

I know its a crappy system, but i did not have the choice of wich system i would get. The insurance company just gave me one and now i have to use it until i find a way to convert it to windows 7

fallout 3 is buggy on new computers because it came out when multicores didn't exists.
the only way i know to avoid this problem is to get an old style singlecore OR a multicore with really hi frequency, at least 2.5 Gh ( in this way one of the cores should be able to keep up with the game, the game will always use only 1 cpu core )

this will make ctd less frequent yet still it will happen. quicksaving can help tho, i played it on a 2.7 quad core processor and it used to last like 15min before a ctd, than load again and continue playng.

this is a know issue btw, you can look on google for some patching made by users.
those patch don't usually help at all, but you never know...

aw right no idea what the guy above is talkin about cause multicore processors definitely existed and it works fine on multicore processors. Windows 8 is most likely ure problem cause its a cunt. if u right click the short cut and go to properties u can try running it in windows 7 mode or previous ones if u wish but u may just need to patch the game to the latest version
