The book The Hunchback of Notre-Dame had a very disturbing theme that no matter how good of a person you are, if you are ugly then you are deemed evil by default.

the hunchback was one of Disney's darkest movies. And i ******* loved it. And i didn't really thing ugly=evil was the theme, if anything, ugly means social outcast and treat him like **** until he goes into confinement again. And it pointed out how religion can corrupt one person into thinking everyone and everything is bad except yourself

And he saw corruption everywhere, except within

The book is very different then the movie, the message was clear.

The Disney version changed almost everything, but It's a pretty good Disney movie nonetheless.
