Hey Advice, what up?
Alright...My current relationship with my girlfriend is a little...strained. In my mind, at least. Her parents don't trust her enough to even let us in any room alone together, rarely let her hang out with me (and when we do, her parents watch us like goddamn hawks). And this is summertime after I graduated, so I won't be able to see her in school anymore. So...could someone please tell me the most ideal way of breaking up with a girl? I've never had to do it myself...

Breaking up with someone is hard, so here is what you do,

Do it in person. Tell her the truth. Don't be a sissy and do it over a text or a phone call. I'm assuming you're breaking up with her because you're leaving for school and the protective parents. Say something along the lines of "You're a cool person but I feel as if we can't get close, plus I'm leaving for school next year, soooo, I can't continue our relationship."
