Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada called federal elections on Sunday, hoping to extend his Conservative Party’s decade-long hold on power despite questions about its ethics and a struggling economy.

By law, Mr. Harper had to hold a vote in October. But he broke with Canadian political tradition by formally opening the campaign in the middle of summer during what is a holiday weekend in most of the country. The move appeared designed to give the Conservative Party an edge in campaign spending. The campaign period before the vote on Oct. 19 will be the longest since Canadians all began voting on a single day in 1874.

From what I can gather he's apparently beginning a campaign early to try and gain more support for his party
Doesn't really seem like much, just a breaking of tradition

I never liked him to begin with. Always thought his animations were eh writing and a bunch of crazy faces in the lack of comedy to fill in the void. I think he only got to where he was because he was in newgrounds since the beginning of it all and gained a cult following.
Not hard being famous in a low competition area.

Besides, dude always makes me feel like he's a lot more than what he likes to put himself out to be.
#6456 to #6455 - geeky ONLINE (08/06/2015) [-]
Really that's what I remember him for: Newgrounds
His Awesome series struck me as a bit childish and immature at times but I experienced a lot of what he talked about and thought the same way he did at times
"Yeah, I can see Dig Dug freaking out about what he found underground"
"Yeah, the NPCs don't tell you a lot of what you need to know in MGS in time"
To be completely honest I see game grumps as pretty sub-par and would much rather watch Videogamedunkey or Twobestfriends do a Let's Play, if it wasn't for his success in the past I'd probably just count him as another Pewdiepie
But alas, I feel wrong denying him something as small as a subscription when I look back on how many times he's made me laugh

I can see that, closet genius who keeps up what he does because he knows he won't be as successful if he colors outside the lines

So I once came across a sprite sheet about "Brown powerless fleetway sonic"
Could I get an explanation?
#6430 to #6429 - zeruaargi (08/02/2015) [-]
Jesus this ****.
Okay well lets begin to say old Sonic comics were weird....like really weird.
So they thought that when Sonic turned super sonic that the energy of the chaos emeralds would effect him in a negative way where the excess of power would make him into some dark edgy version of himself where he was evil and shot lasers out his eyes.

That's pretty much all I know, I don't read the comics for a reason. I assume brown powerless fleetway means he's sonic but he took over or some **** like that.
I know he tried killing amy and others but that's it. He was basically the "too much power/emotions makes my character edgy and evil" troupe that plagues a lot of ****. I know they almost tried that thing with Sonic X with Dark Sonic but it's a great thing they pretty much only showed him once.
#6431 to #6430 - geeky ONLINE (08/02/2015) [-]
Yeah now that much I remember
I kind of assumed the brown sonic thing was him before he was given those sick red shoes and was kind of just a normal hedgehog but your guess works too

Thank god they got rid of the Dark Sonic crap though, that had failure written all over it
I mean why should they even bother giving him emeralds if he could power up like that on the fly?
#6432 to #6431 - zeruaargi (08/02/2015) [-]
It was some **** about the chaos emeralds being able to feed on the emotions of people and sonic was surrounded by some fake emeralds that still had some characteristics of the originals and it turned him into dark because he saw chris knocked out and cosmo scared, but the thing is that the way chaos emeralds work is pretty inconsistent in sonic games.
first they're powerful gems that can power up living things and machines, then they are a part of some chao guardian to turn it into a monster and it apparently uses negative and positive energies which doesn't make much sense because that would just make it inert, they can revive you after being speared by some black primordial evil, and they are the cure to fix the planet in some temples to put the continents together. They're pretty much Deus Ex Machina of Sonic.

As for Brown sonic I think there was a story where they tried to say sonic was some brown hedgehog that ran so fast he turned blue. yeah.
#6433 to #6432 - geeky ONLINE (08/02/2015) [-]
Damn man, if they're that powerful I don't even wanna know what the Master Emerald and Super Emeralds can do

#6434 to #6433 - zeruaargi (08/02/2015) [-]
The master emerald has the power to stop the chaos emeralds or charge them up. It's basically the boss man of all of the emeralds, kinda why Knuckles (kinda) protects at all times.

#6421 to #6420 - zeruaargi (08/01/2015) [-]
**** that took a while.
Yeah she did but the the thing is Fallout 1 was written better. So after you leave the vault of not your own fault but because your dad left and you're blamed for it so you run away, then you get an emergency transmission and you go to fix any trouble and she still tells you to leave for....some reason? Like you helped out the vault and what happened was not your problem to begin with. Fallout 1 had a better reason, what the Overseer said was legitimately true. The legend of the Vault Dweller inspired many tales across the wasteland because of their actions, the people of the vault would ask about their adventures and be motivated to go out and have their own adventures even with all the dangers because someone made it out there. The whole culture of the Vault is basically a frozen locked atomic age society that lives in isolation, you spent months outside, and you were changed. You made history, you became a hero, but you also became one of them. You no longer fit in with the Vault's culture because you left and brought back knowledge of the world outside. If people knew, they would leave. The overseer was right, and if you had bad karma you would murder him for it. The thing is, the overseer was doing what he thought was right, he did his job. He was not to blame for what happened and you can tell he was truly torn to tell you to leave but the irony is it would be his downfall too. Years later when the Enclave arrived, they would take all the denizens of the vault themselves and fill it with intelligent deathclaws but hindsight is 20/20 so in the moment the overseer of vault 13 did what he could to keep the people of the vault safe and if it meant to have you leave he had to do it.
For amata they were leaving anyway so it felt like...whatever.

Huh, that was a good read
Amazing how one can learn more and more from all kinds of sources in a universe as big as Fallout's
Living alongside deathclaws that were released with the sole intent on mass murder is some pretty original stuff
#6424 to #6422 - zeruaargi (08/01/2015) [-]
Yeah, but then the Enclave created Frank Horrigan and you watch him just murder the entire population of deathclaws single handley. This is foreshadowing for the inevitable encounter with one of Fallout's most deadliest warrior.
#6425 to #6424 - geeky ONLINE (08/01/2015) [-]
Yeah, sucks you're pretty much forced to confront him head on
I mean you can get help from turrets and some soldiers but still peaceful negotiation or sabotage should have been an option
#6426 to #6425 - zeruaargi (08/01/2015) [-]
Well I felt that's what made him terrifying was that you couldn't reason with him no matter what you did.
#6427 to #6426 - geeky ONLINE (08/01/2015) [-]
I don't have an argument for that
Good eye
#6428 to #6427 - zeruaargi (08/01/2015) [-]
He was a great boss because he was the perfect weapon. Loyal, deadly, and powerful. While Lanius was also a monster, he would be torn by the power of Frank Horrigan because you see a demonstration of his power and you know you have to deal with him. You just hear stories of Lanius but you have a good timed lay out of C4 down a path because he just chases you and yeah he's gone. Frank was a super mutant in advance enclave armor, it makes it a miracle that you even beat him in the first place. That's what made him a good boss like enemy. The Master was different in that he was shockingly disturbing and that he was doing what he did for an actual good reason. He didn't know about the infertility spawned from exposure to FEV so he thought he was helping, the old world was gone and in order to truly survive was to "evolve" but when he knew his faults he felt that regret and blew up everything he worked on. Fallout 3 was just a bunch of enclave you had to shoot apart and meeting autumn and either telling him to leave or just shooting him. Woopity doo da.

The only DLC I've yet to try is Point Lookout, and that's because I heard it's best to be at least level 25 before attempting it

I'm currently doing Mothership Zeta, and truth be told I kinda like it
#6413 to #6412 - zeruaargi (07/30/2015) [-]
Was point lookout that hard?
I just went with it in order of date released of DLC's.

Yeah their weapons are nice, just remember you will never find the ammo for those weapons anywhere but there. Also it's weird how they don't have the Alien Blaster from the first fallout. you can find it in a special place at the Adam's Airforce base in Broken Steel though.
I never liked that one, felt like a Call of Duty stage where you just run around and shoot.
#6414 to #6413 - geeky ONLINE (07/30/2015) [-]
I have no idea, I just googled "What level should you be for Fallout 3 DLCs" and it reccomended level 25-30 for Point Lookout
I'm 21 now so I'll get onto that after I finish up here and maybe do a little Broken Steel, I just got revived after sacrificing myself and came here

I didn't want to do an Energy Weapons runthrough because of the scarcity of them early and midway through the game, so I'm not gonna enjoy them as much as I should
Probably gonna put the guns in my weapons locker, sell all the ammo, and then never even look at them again in this playthough
#6415 to #6414 - zeruaargi (07/30/2015) [-]
ah okay, so how you liking the storyteller fallout series?
#6416 to #6415 - geeky ONLINE (07/30/2015) [-]
It's extremely informative and unbiased, giving a clear explanation throughout the series
I think I'm on episode 5 now, I'm gonna try and fit in an episode or two a day soon
What's good about it is how it doesn't baby feed information, like when they were talking about the mutant army in Fallout 1 for example
They didn't break it down like "The Master was x and evil because y", instead they spoke of the gist of it like an actual character in that universe
"A dark god and his army of genetically modified soldiers"
Plus the mods and console commands they use to set up screenshots are extra neato
#6417 to #6416 - zeruaargi (07/30/2015) [-]
Wait until you get to Season 2. The narrator becomes his own character and the scenes will be animated. Then season 3 he talks mostly about the Vault Dwellers journey in the wasteland and what he did for the people and has his own adventure.

I've known that since a few days ago.

The Sonic hate bandwagon has gone on since 06 and well thanks to machinima being the big cess pool of **** it was the constant jokes towards a younger generation has changed the overall attitude towards Sonic. I'm not saying the games were perfect but people have gotten a bit nitpickier and loud with it, also with the new era of a few ****** titles hasn't helped at all. At least the comics and show is doing okay.
#6405 to #6404 - geeky ONLINE (07/30/2015) [-]
Oh I know, I was one of the people who thumbed that up
I'm just happy the site's seeing it and not just Backroom

Yeah, Sonic doesn't deserve half the hate it gets. A couple of games are broken, whoop de doo, there's enough good to make up for the bad

I've always wanted to get into the comics, but my diehard sonic friend always said they were awful
What do you think?
#6535 to #6405 - zeruaargi (08/25/2015) [-]
I found a better source for seeing more comics.

Basically how it works is that you read the first parts for sillyness and gags and when it gets series it establishes the basics of the lore then you get into the ken penders **** tirade and either endure torture or just skip to issue 160.

fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Minigun_ (Fallout_3)
Well miniguns are in big guns so their accuracy and damage depends on your stats for that but it's mostly because each bullet from the minigun does only 5 (10 or so with all perks) damage but the damage per second is 100. so enemies with higher damage threshhold won't be so affected by it unless you use armor pierces or something or you wear down their armor.

A sign of evil is to live life doing whatever it takes to ensure you stay at the top, and the way the Legion ensures that makes them a great villain face

The things they did being led by a false god to civilize people well gave me enough of a reason to do what I thought was right. So I figured they earned a fair fight and I decided to go Gothic on their asses and annihilated every soldier I could. They hate my guts but they're doing me a favor. They're fueling a small war economy for me, I provide conflict, they fight, I take every weapon, I sell them, I buy more weapons to kill more, and the cycle continues.

War never changes bitches.
