I use both apple and windows they have their advantages and disadvantages one of the major good things about apple is how easy it is to use and how the software manages resources. And how I do not have the headaches with windows. But its major drawback is not being able to change out the parts, but apple did ship my dad out a brand new computer that was way faster and had top end components in it after a few complaints for free! (I don't know how often apple does that) and the other major drawback to apple is that it does not have allot of games for it even wine does not work that well. The good thing about windows is how many applications it has but the drawbacks is the viruses and the terrible resource management. And also the crashes and stuff (apple does have crashes too! but very rare). I use to own a PC until I had the money to fork over for a apple pc. But not to many Windows users know that if you run windows in bootcamp on mac it runs way better than windows standalone. You can still run all your applications without problem and you won't have to worry about viruses (apple takes care of that problem) and the resources are ran better. So in my opinion just get an apple computer then run bootcamp with what ever Win. version you like and you wont have all the headaches with standalone windows. Holy crap this might not be the most grammatically correct paragraph but atleast I got my point across

How about everybody just calm down and let people spend their money on whatever computer they want, since it's their life? People don't have to use the same things.

I work tech support for a university and I can tell you Mac hard drives go bad at about the same rate as PC hard drives. Also Mac's hardware is pretty much the same as windows it just the way OSX utilize the hardware is more efficient.

Also HDD failure has nothing to do with OS.
That's a hardware problem.

If the HDD is busted, then you'll need a windows installation disc.
Unless the person already has another backup HDD with windows already installed on it.

I don't see how that is even relevant.
The post said nothing about it being a software issue.
I just woke up, so I might be missing something here.

Anon said the HDD failing wasn't the fault of Windows.
You said if the HDD is broken you'll need Windows.
achpheonix pointed out that the HDD breaking still had nothing to do with Windows.
You ponder his statement.

If the HDD breaks, and the files on it are lost, what happens to the windows?
That's what I'm trying to say here. The guy didn't say anything wrong when he said he will need to get an installation disc.

Im not really sure what you're trying to prove or what point you're trying to make, man.
The guy in the post, his HDD broke, right? Hardware failure, with the hard drive being at fault. He needed the Windows disc to install on a new HDD, hence the rebuilding he talks about.
Software literally has nothing to do with his hard drive failing.
The first anon pointed that out, and called out Applefag on his idiocy for thinking so.

Right. The first guy never said anything about windows being at fault, and that is where the misunderstanding between me and the anon happened. It REALLY sounds like anon directed his comment at the guy who had the HDD failure.
