bro same scenarios,

>birthday rocks up
>family makes reservations at a Chinese restaurant
> sister's ridicule the entire time
>one of the said sister's goes out for a smoke
>Chinese waiters come out with cake
>blasting the birthday song
>everyone is just staring at me
>no happy birthday from any of them, not even from my dad
>everyone is just watching
>waiter comes back with a zip seal bag for the candles
>tosses it like a badass ************ on my lap
doesn't enjoy birthdays anymore

Heh, i know that feel. We were even born in the same age.
But at some point i noticed i always get a lot of money on my birthday, so i went to buy some small gifts for my friends and sent some games over steam to friends, for the hell of it.
Stopped properly celebrating my birthday 5 years ago~

My last birthday party was when I turn 12 years old. I planned a pool party with all my friends, got a ******** of food, video games and all that kind of fun **** . Probably invited like 30 people. Only 3 showed up (my best friends). Never had a party again, never received a birthday present again. Fast forward 11 years, finally decided to throw a birthday party with ******** of alcohol, weed and all that kind of fun **** because I wanted to introduce the girl I love to my friends. Invited all my friends. Five days before, she broke up with me. Decide to throw party anyway because **** it, I'm depressed and need to cheer up. All my friends had to cancel because of work, marriage **** , child, school, bla bla bla. Never going to plan a birthday party again. But on the bright side, I got a present from my parents. A 50 dollar gift certificate for Best Buy

We have the same birthday, but none of mine were really that bad. I don't really take my birthday seriously and I basically just host a LAN party every year now. Sorry about that bud. Don't take it too harshly though.

it seems like you are too reserved, interact, make yourself heard. people tend to remember talkative people, just throw yourself out there, whats the worse that can happen

I know the feel, i have the misfortune of having a birthday on Christmas day. Nobody ever says happy birthday, i sit round the table with them, nobody remembers, nobody ******* remembers.

It's just your birthday dude, it's just the day you happened to pop out of your mother. If you want a good birthday invite your friends to a bar or a small gathering, bring some beers and such and just sit there, drink, talk, laugh, share. Nothing more than that. Share the memories of your friendship. A birthday is nothing more than an excuse to get the lads together for a pint and a party.

My story isn't as bad as yours, but still not that much fun....

I was born 17 august 1996, so right in the middle of summer vacation where I live. I've always had barely any people show up, just maybe some cousins or grandparents, but my friends were always on vacation on my birthday. a few years ago I tried celebrating it on a different day than my actual birthday, to throw a party, and it was just boring as hell because we forgot to go to the swimmingpool as planned... >.<

Forgot to add: Now I'm just not really celebrating my birthday, sometimes people show up sometimes they don't. I'm just glad there's cake

I seriously don't get how a family can forgot about someone... mostly if it's even a child of them.

I have a rather huge family... if you'd take all together maybe around 200.
But most of them live far away and we don't hear much about them....
Even though... every time someone of my family has birthday the phone is ringing all day long, just for a few congratulations.

I myself don't need this stuff, I like to gather people occasionally and have a little party, but that's it. I know people care about me, that's why I actually prefer not getting called all day long. A few "hi"'s and "how are you?"'s ones in a while when we met is fine.

I really don't care about congratulations form my cousins, my aunts and uncles, my grandparents, my sister... the only really important ones are my parents, even though I kinda already don't need this anymore, I rather think als this birthday stuff is annoying, but as a child, and with beeing born in 95 you're not that old, it's just hard to hear that parents don't remember your birthday.

But remember that it's your life, enjoy it at the fullest and don't depend on other people for that. If they don't care about you, don't care about them. There's always someone out there who'll care more for you, you just have to find him/her!
