You know you read too much manga when you have to remind yourself to read comics from left to right, instead of right to left.....

Okay... I dont know what the internet has done to me. Instead of the girl surviving, I thought she was gonna jump and then the next day the girls body would be at the guys house for free... necrophilia. And that meant his wish would have come true.
 I dont even ******* know

There are only a few reasons why I would accept a person commiting suicide. They are doing it for one or more person(s)/people as a sacrifice or they simply don't want to live in this world because not of something terrible that's going on in their lives, they don't see any reason of living (loosing ALL their loved ones, finding themselves unstatisfied with the things they have and want something that can't be obtained in this world, etc.). I can only accept their choices if they already did it because dwelling on what right and what's wrong is pointless since the act has already been done. Just remember that if it's something that can be changed, even if it will take a long time and the chances are bleak, please don't cave in and prove you are strong in the eyes of the world and more importantly, yourself.

TL;DR

It's none of your business, if they want to commit a suicide you have no right to stop them.

I have no idea what they have been through and what they feel but I just told my view that if there's something you can change then "I" think they should do something about it. Their decision and actions have a majority of the role in putting that change into action but I am only ENCOURAGING them to make that choice. It's like you said, "if they want to commit a suicide you have no right to stop them", but why not help them? I think it's time to let go where their problem becomes yours and they made a final decision since you can't watch a person every minute of their life and doing so will just be a waste since they wont listen. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

the way I see it, if anyone is dumb enough to commit suicide, ESPECIALLY at a young age... they don't deserve the life they threw away

the only reason that I accept would be the case of sacrificing yourself to save another, whether its a transplant, or you jump in front of a moving bus to push someone else out of the way. Other than that, there is no valid reason to quit on life.

Why would a person commiting suicide care about your acception?

Where in my comment did I say I want them to care about my acception to suicide? I just voiced my opinion on the matter and the only reasons "I" would accept it their decision. I don't care if they want my acceptance or not. It's their choice basically.

That was cute and I don't want to be that guy, but would it really take a little bit of sweet-talk and ice cream to make someone stop suicide? I honestly would held out my hand and held her from jumping, but then again what do I know.

From what I understand, most suicidal people don't really want to kill themselves. They just want someone to care about them and pay a little attention to them.

It's not always about attention, but there are a lot of attention whores out there. Some people feel a massive pain and sadness sometimes, nagging them constantly.

It won't go away so....why don't i just kill myself...right? But....what happens when I die? I'm already in pain I don't exactly want to go through more..but then again I could just end it...

I'd imagine something of this sort goes on in a suicidal person's head ^ (maybe not the last part but idk)

I was afraid someone here would misinterpret the "wanting some attention" as an attention whore. I meant that some people just feel like they've never had anyone there for them. Someone they can depend on and they feel like nobody even knows they exist.

Ah you described my best friend spot on there. I "saved her life" a while back by talking her out of suicide via text and she wouldn't answer her phone (though i don't think the dosage of pills would have killed her anyway). And we almost dated and somewhere along the line she started to hate me and now she blocked my number and refuses to see me. But yeah...you're exactly right.

No one wants to die. Not even people who commit suicide. It's a sudden thing they do to die. Talking someone out of it is pretty easy if you know the person well enough. Ngl it's scary as hell thinking if you screw up then the person dies.

I'm pretty sure there has been occasional suicides where the person genuinely wanted to pass on and also I think that talking someone out of it is one of the most pressure-inducing tasks to do.

Yes. And it puts you through an emotional rollercoaster. First scared, then angry at the person for wanting to die, then scared again (mostly ******** bricks constantly), and then happy and worried and sad and angry when they don't do it and you have to leave them for the night/day.

I'd imagine only when someone is psychologically ill is when they'd actually want to die. Everyone has a fear of the unknown, and death is the biggest unknown.

People who are suicidal all have different reasons. It goes from wanting attention to wanting someone to regret what they might have done to you to wanting to make someone realize what it would mean to lose you. A lot of times those are just the thoughts, though. For some reason it's like a strange satisfaction thinking of that person after the fact realizing how much they really needed you.. But if the person does actually try it usually is (even if only for a moment) like a crushing devastation and a strong will not to live. And really just thinking about that option, in my opinion would mean you're psychologically ill and def need help or someone to talk to.
