I live in NYC all my life and it happened when I was around 5, I saw the T.V and from what I was told by my older sis, it was that Osama Bin Laden and his biological son, Saddam Hussein took planes from the middle east, and filled them up with explosive jackets and then flew through the buildings so fast that no one saw and then went back to the middle east, detonated the jackets and then the buildings crumbled to the ground...

I was not a clever child.

I would have been in Primary 2 in Scotland (6/7 years old) when this happened, The teacher wheeled a TV into the room and got us all to draw pictures of it.

Which is up there with the most surreal of my childhood memories.

In the USA it stayed live in order to keep the kids from freaking out too much. All the kids channels (nickolodean, Cartoon Network, etc etc) stayed on, Adult stuff (Food Network, HGTV, etc etc) went off air, though.

The US still dubbed DBZ. I doubt he watched the subs or non-english dub versions.

I was in fifth grade when 9/11 happened, and I actually blamed it on the Russians at first. I was bullied by Russian kids in elementary school and sorta hated them all as a result (something I fortunately got over).

Sounds like something I'd expect from a person who was ate up with the cold war.
