I understand that completely culling all guns would stop gun violence but that is damn near impossible. The moment you take guns away from civilians is the moment they become available exclusively to those wishing to do harm with them. I don't want a closet over flowing with AR-15's, but I've been nearly arrested on three occasions because some random soccer mom reported me to be carrying a handgun, sure enough I was along with my concealed handgun license and all my papers. I just feel safer with a glock strapped to my thigh than a cop around the corner.

Stop all gun violence but not violence in general; it'd just get worse as seen in the UK.

For example, I believe it is Sweden where in every house there is required to be no less than one gun and no less than one person trained to use it. One of the least violent countries in the world.

I think it's Switzerland you're thinking of

Totally banning guns...Would surely stop criminals from building sten guns, zip guns, four winds, bombs, shanks, and sharp sticks.

Seriously, gun owners are the least violent of any group. I have 4 legal weapons but I could easily build 2 illegal ones per day if I wanted to. They managed it 200 years ago, sheesh.

So you're saying guns just breed more guns?

If only. I'd breed my guns all day long...

Yes, because violent escalation and threats solves everything. It's not like it starts wars or anything.

i think they should make everyone own a gun but make lethal rounds only legal to members of the military.

The same argument could be made if you had said "How many of you wish I didn't have a gun right now?" You had the power to make that argument go whichever way you desired. And you chose the wrong side.

That sounds like a lovely, safe world to raise children in, with a perfect political system that utilizes completely fair negotiation techniques.

You go to the midnight premiere of a highly anticipated movie. Critics who reviewed it are already calling it the movie of the decade.

You and your significant other are enjoying the movie when a guy with an assault rifle walks in and just starts shooting people randomly. He strategically places himself in front of the exit so that no one can leave unharmed.

Tell me you don't want a gun to in that situation. Tell me you don't want ANY of the 200 movie goers to have a gun in that situation.

It doesn't matter if they have a gun on them or not. They aren't supposed to move.

Actually the funny thing about the debate is that it even exists. The progun people are ultimately allowing the anti-gun people to live. And if the antigun people evr had the balls to try and take away the progun peoples guns...I am often curious just how they plan to accomplish that task without violating their own principles?
