Tattoos are one thing, but piercings are another. For girls and occasionally guys, one or two small holes in a place like the ears or naval is okay, but it just becomes gross when it comes to gauges, lip rings, eyebrow rings, cheek rings... and when it comes to tattoos, there IS a limit.

I wouldn't hire a person for an above minimum wage job if they looked like this. Hell they'd be lucky if they got the minimum wage job.

I would agree to a certain point. Anything involving customer service in person I would agree with you. However, I wouldn't care if an IT person or a customer service rep that communicated with people over the phone looked like the guy in your picture.
It's about maintaining an image for your business, but if nobody is going to see you then who cares?

On a side note, cheek piercings are one of the ugliest ******* things to grace women's faces in the history of ever.
Seriously, that **** is atrocious.

Women's or men's, in my opinion.

I have no qualms about little holes for regular earings, but when I see a chick with badly infected, nasty piercings and gauges it makes me want to force their parents to rip every last piece of metal out of them.

Where I live, I haven't seen a dude with cheek piercings, they're considered more of a "girl" thing here. They're ******* disgusting, and even when the girls take them out, the holes are permanently indented in their face. I don't understand the appeal of it at all.

But the thought of a guy with them is equally disturbing...

Yes, but some jobs are meant for people who aren't old enough to be done with college. I mean, being a manager at a fast food place for awhile isn't BAD, it's just that if you're in your mid twenties, you should have something worked out.

to be fair being in a rock band isnt exactly the best job. we always say "look at the guy that made it" when theres hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of other people out there that are living in vans eating one meal a day. the reason all of these dudes with piercings and stuff stay the same when they make it is because the demographic loves it so they decide "i guess ill keep the piercings" the guages and **** are a fad that will end soon. the reason travis kept his was because he got famous and looking like the type of music he plays earns him money

Since gay marriage has recently been sanctioned and other liberating shizzles, having piercings and tattoos should seriously come under the equal rights and work act.

>comparing an entire people's rights to the metal and ink stuck in your skin

It's actually quite funny that you don't even see why employers won't hire people with gauges, tattoos, etc. Not only does it scream "I AM IMPULSIVE", but to many it is unattractive. A guy/ girl with piercings and tattoos working at a Tattoo shop looks like a damn professional, but anywhere else he/ she (at first glance) looks like they made a bad decision and must now live with it.

It doesn't undermine their intelligence nor the skills needed in the working environment.

I hope you are joking. The reason gay marriage has made so much headway is by the developments in society as well as science that support the notion that homosexuality is not a choice and that it is a condition predesignated from birth.
Piercings and tattoos do not fall under that category as they are 100% optional (inb4 parents pierced ears at birth). Most (if not all) employers will hire pierced or tatted employees as long as they take out their piercings or cover their tattoos. If you really think this violates some equal rights ********, you deserved to be unemployed.
I think I'll become a nudist who doesn't shower or practice any kind of personal hygene, and then bitch and moan when no one will hire me. This is what happens when government tries to intervene too much in the private sector. Because corporations and really all non-government employers should be free to use their own discretion when hiring employees, unless it infringes on a persons biological predestination (i.e. race, gender, and the most recent- sexuality).

Don't get me wrong I have absolutely no malcontent for the tatted and the pierced, because I love and respect so many of my friends that are. But saying that they should be included under the equal rights and work act is just ignorant and false.

There's a huge difference between exposing your sexual parts and showing off your tattoos and piercing. With issues on nudists, they can at least easily cover themselves. With tattoos and piecing, unless they're on your sleeves, you can't just simply cover them. The whole issue is that it has an unfair stigma attached to them that's associated with degeneracy and **** like that.

You are mistaken. You can literally cover-up any tattoo on your body from your feet all the way up to your neck. The only tattoo that would be difficult to cover up would be a face tattoo, in which case, don't get a face tattoo
