Oh gee, The Lord of the Rings wasn't real, so it must then be a terrible waste of time. Fiction or not, they're still humorous to plenty of users.

How you forced yourself to keep that job is beyond me. The **** I've read that they've made you do is beyond ridiculous, and quite frankly if anyone tried making me do that **** I'd tell them to shove it up their ass and go do it themselves.

I work the register and clean too, but luckily we have an outside maintenance company to do extensive cleaning for the toilets and whatnot. I'm glad there was some justice and the manager sided with you.

It's funny because I did notice a pattern with these stories where OP has something come up making clean up impossible, and the manager just writes it off as "It's your job, do it!"

Sounds to me like the guy is just a cunt who likes to motigate things and leave the easy **** for himself.

Yes, I have. Luckily, I've never had a manager be that flaky, though. A friend of mine works at a Subway, though, and his managers does that FREQUENTLY. His car breaks down a couple hours out of town half a day from when his shift would start. As he's furiously trying to get a tow truck to get his ass back to civilization, her response was "just get to work."

When he couldn't, she never found a viable replacement (since he couldn't given he was in shoddy reception-ville). Instead of potentially covering it herself, she pushed it off on the guy who was working the shift before him......without telling him first.

Yep, I work at walmart and **** like that happens frequently. But my store has been sued once for mistreatment of employees so they are afraid of it happening again. "Hey trollChild, we need you to work closing. We know that would make it a 14 hour shift, but you can have a second lunch and more breaks."

Which Normally im A-OK with, i love long days. Feels good when you finally sleep. But I had school at 8:00 and closing doesnt end until 1:30 AM "Nope, sorry boss. Can't." And they say "What if I am not asking?" All I said was "Well, if you weren't so kindly asking and were trying to demand. I would have to tell you to kiss my ass, but since that's not the case, we can instead be civil about this and you can find someone else." Left, and now they're trying to find reasons to get rid of me i think LOL

on the one hand, amazing stories, love the series so far, can't wait to see more, and this only reinforces my decision to NEVER work in food service. EVER.

Also you made me chuckle at 'vurp'.

On the other hand....why did I decide to read this while trying to finish my dinner. You made me gag a bit there.
