See, this is what makes prison inmates cool. They won't care much if you murder an adult or rob someone. But so help you god, if you killed/molested a child or raped women, you're beyond ****** if other inmates find out.

Maybe I'm just crazy, but I will never for the life of me understand how so many people think that being brutally murdered is better than being raped. At least one can recover from a rape. But in the case of murder that's it, you're gone. Your life has been selfishly stripped from you, and your loved ones will have to live the rest of their lives with the knowledge that everything you were and would have been is gone forever. And your family will often think of the last moments of your life and how horrifying it must have been for you, and what went through the killer's head during the act. A murderer is no better than a rapist, I really can't understand how an inmate convicted of a murder can deem their actions better than that of a rapist's. I say **** em all if you ask me.

Basically, yeah.

Seems ******, but I think we can all agree that harming children is far worse than harming adults. They're just doing what we all wish we could do because they've already had their chance at life taken from them. I guarantee most of the 'civilized' people in the world would murder the **** out of Casey Anthony, OJ, Anders Breivik, the various school shooters, and a whole host of other awful excuses for human beings if they got the chance, which is what those people deserve.

There is a hidden rule in most prisons, most of the murderers would never harm a child, most of them kill another man, alot of the documentary's I have watched on prison life and various other programs referring to prisons state that many of the inmates feel as if murdering or harming a woman and or a child is wrong. Weird as that may seem thats what a good majority of them feel. They only chose to murder another man since he is not defenseless, clearly not all of them feel this way, but a good majority do feel this way. They wouldnt touch a child seeing as how the child is technically defenseless. That is just how they feel about those who kill children.

Ironically even people in prison have morals.

Usually pedophiles in prison are the most likely to be raped by other inmates.

Well the murderers have the excuse "he/she had it coming" which is a good enough excuse to the other inmates, but a child molester is just labled a pervert in the other inmates eyes and have no excuse.

So I guess I can see where the murderers are coming from but also it is an odd way of justice.

Child molesters prey on the weak because they don't view themselves as physically strong. They wouldn't do anything to murderers anyway. I doubt people would see molesters "teaching a murderer a lesson", as a "good" act, you're correct.

I'm pretty sure that there is just a universal hatred for people who are THAT mentally ****** up that they'll molest a defenseless kid. Murderer's will rationalize their murders with a "He had it coming", or a "He was an adult, he had a fair chance to defend himself", yadi-yadah ***************, but a kid has no way to protect themselves. So yeah.

TL;DR, Everyone hates kiddy-touchers/abusers, and so we applaud whoever has the balls to **** their lives over in any way possible, regardless of who does it. Typically prison people (murderers) are the ones who are going to have the balls to do so.

Prisons are made up of tons of different kinds of offenders, ranging from murderers/child molesters to petty thieves, they might be kept in different cell blocks according to their crimes to organize them but I don't know, even if they are they're all together once they leave their cells (work/exercise/free time/eating), in fact some people think prison is bad for minor offenders because they spend time with worse criminals.

I forgot to mention "areas" etc. Instead of just saying prisons. But anyway, I don't know how they do it in the US, but I've never heard of minors or people that are convicted of less serious crimes being placed in the same blocks or w/e as murderers here in Norway. (It's not like I keep a watchful eye over what's happening inside of prisons in Norway, I'm just stating that I've never heard of it happening.)

If you look at my comment, it isn't so much women as it is children. They don't take too kindly to people stealing the innocence of others. They know they are bad people and know that there are other bad people, but to force a child into such a terrible spot before they even have a chance to live is just wrong. Even criminals have a sense of morality, and while it is obviously skewed (otherwise they more than likely wouldn't be in there), most everyone in the world knows you don't do that stuff to kids. It's just plain wrong.

Personally I believe in an eye for an eye. This person essentially tortured a child and then murdered them, the only justice he deserved is the very thing he brought on to her. However the legal system and people in certain parties refuse to believe that people deserve justice for their actions and allow them to keep living in arguably better conditions than they may have before. If someone were to torture and murder an adult male for example though, they should deserve the same fate as the man they tortured and murdered. Sure the people who are already in prison should have no right to act justice upon another inmate however they're doing something the government doesn't do.
At least say a robber who killed 10 people put those people out of their misery quickly rather than letting them feel the deep emotional pain that someone who is raped feels. Because this man sodomized someone he deserves what he brought on himself. This should be common sense to everyone, but unfortunately they deem an "eye for an eye" to be too "inhumane" or "immoral" which I completely disagree with.

Doing something wrong to an individual who is grown and already knows how hard life is is one thing. But when a person steals the innocence of a child, that just doesn't fly with anyone. It shows how, no matter where people are from there are basic human rights and basic laws of morality that come into play. It isn't to be a white knight. Many people in prison know they are bad people, but don't look down on those around them in jail who may have even done worse things. However, crimes involving children, especially molestation, are on an entirely different level. Most anybody sent to prison for molesting or killing a kid is getting raped at the very least. More often than not, they are beaten, sometimes tortured, and even killed.

Morality is just a ******* social construct. It's what people tell us it has to be. I view human life as a human life, plain and simple. I only put more value to a human life if it means something to me. If a guy gets murdered, that sucks. If a 10 year old gets murdered, that sucks too. But i'm not gonna let society tell me that the little girls life is more valuable than some other dude. **** that.

Say what you will, but the fact that even hardened killers know that a child is something to be treasured and left alone sure doesn't point away from their being a universal morality. I'm not saying that all morals are indeed universal, that would be naive. But there are some things that people do know are RIGHT and WRONG. Just look at thievery. No matter where in history you look, there have always been laws and punishment against it. But can you really deny that taking the life of someone who has hardly had a chance to live (whether it be physically as in killing them, or psychologically, through emotional trauma) is just a sick and twisted thing to do? I'm not trying to say that doing something similar to an adult isn't wrong by any means. But when it happens to a kid, you know that they are scarred for life, and they have quite a bit more life to life than a middle aged adult. Not only that, but many kids know life to be good. They haven't experienced the true hardships of life and are still innocent. When you take all that away from someone so quickly and dramatically, there will always be negative side effects.

The difference, I suppose, is that between an older human and a younger one. Older humans have likely already shown what they will become and do, whereas the young child can still be seen as having infinite potential.

Also, while morality is partially a social construct, it's much more subconscious than that. Most of morality is based upon empathy, which ain't something society made up. It became a social construct as most people share this empathy, or at least understand it, and believe rape, murder, stealing, and things like that to be wrong. Society didn't make it, the common individual did.

And, in the end, humans are NOT all equal, when you look at it from a purely logical standpoint. The infertile, weak, disease prone, or anything along those lines are not as helpful to society as the fertile, strong, healthy, or geniuses. While all of those types of people can be loved and/or cared for, they cannot, in the end, help humanity as a whole as much as others can.

If I remember correctly, it actually works fairly well and the people have a low return to crime rate.

A lot of people will do things like this due to mental instability or diseases, which would seem, to me, to be something which should be attempted to be cured or treated.

Punishment is only a punishment if they reform. What's the point of life in prison if they will never get out and change? That's like permanently punishing a child, they won't reform or rehabilitate, they'll just rot in a cell....

it not the drugs... it is our ****** up system of the death penalty. My sociology professor was explaining how to get on death row an inmate has to go through like 6 separate trials. So they have to pay a judge and all the other people involved for all of those trials (judges make a ******** of money).

My professor used to represent guys on death row(she is highly against the death penalty) and this one guy murdered his wife, chopped her to pieces and tried to dissolve her body in acid. Then my professor got him off death row and he went and murdered his cell mate the first day back in general population. After all that it still wasn't enough for him to get the death penalty!

I am with you, certain ******* that we know have did unspeakable acts do not deserve the right to "justice" anymore. They deserve to be walked out behind a shed and to take a bullet in the head.

Well for notorious cases it's pretty obvious how they find out there. But in cell blocks ( or however a prison is structured...tiers, cell blocks etc) A correctional officer would probably say the nature of the crime to each inmate in that certain cell block. So everyone in Group A would know what crimes each inmate did in that group. The details about the crimes would eventually come out as well.

ive been to jail before and simply put if every guard was honorary and kept quiet, not likely, but still inmates would want to know what you are in for and try to get to know you. and most will ask to see your documents and if you refuse them its taken as hostility and secrecy for some pedo **** most likely.

simply put, you are a child molester and murderer until proven innocent in prison.

Well, there's sort of weird morality in jail, no matter what you've done, if a child molester is put in with you, the guards sometime let slip who he is and what cell he's in then hey presto, they end up raped and murdered in the shower room :D

I bet all you faggots raging about how this is cruel and basically unjust, because it was done by other convicts, are ******* leftist scum, who just sit in the ******* houses waiting for the world to come and give you everything.

In Russia, he would be murdered. In Poland, they would impale him on a broomstick, or castrate him. In Norway or Austria for example he'll get a beautiful room with Internet and stuff. Where is there justice *************?

I'm not trying to be edgy and ****, but hey, get real - this is the real world, when men should bear the consequences of their actions and sometimes it's up to you to bring them to justice, this way or the other, not a ******* utopia where nothing touches you and government is doing everything for you like in Minority Report.

Justice is not revenge. Justice is not punishment. Justice is an act of equalization through righteous retribution, not retaliation.

To be able to live in a world where we can draw a line between "us"and "them" we can not allow ourselves to act as they would act, or allow others to act as they would act. If a man selfishly imposes his own desires upon the life of another, and harms that person, removes their rights and you turn around and do the same to him. How are you different? How can you stand there and say "I am the better man, and I may condemn you for your action" when you are the same?

>mfw righteous retribution

What the hell man? This kind of thinking would destroy the very concept of law. I can't beat the **** out of a guy who beat the **** out of my mother, because "I'll be the same as him"? No, no, no - live this for Captain America, I'll stay with, I don't know - Ghost Rider?

Besides, I am almost sure that you're mixing two different ideas of justice, both described by Aristotle. But they were from that time used to different spheres of life - revenge and punishement for basically criminal law (and countries where it's not, are pathologically soft for convicted criminals), and the other for distribution of goods to citizens I think.

Yeah, sorry that we in Austria believe people can change (personally I don´t think they can) but oh well, all here are white knighting and saying everyone needs a second chance, which in fact I think is ******* ********. Once you screwed it up you should get screwed, i.e.: The death sentence for rape/murder and other "heavy crimes"

HURR DURRR DESERVED IT! the entire comment section is one big internet lynch

Those serving life sentences live like beasts. They ain't human beings anymore, those who did this were surely not much better than him. I don't know if there is any worse place you can be on this planet, it's hell on Earth. But I guess those prison don't have a rehabilitation purpose like those for smaller offences. This picture was released by the guards (inmates don't have cameras) who were later fired. So even the staff is consisted of sadists. I don't see how people see this as justice, with a tattoo or without it he is a ruined person. And he probably wasn't much better before, no sane person decides to rape and kill a child. This post is disgusting and sad.

What I found about this guy is that police first dismissed him as a suspect when a lie-detector test was inconclusive and another man confessed. His case was very fishy. Parents of this little girl wanted Katie to be remembered by good by building a playground in her honor. Now she will be remembered by this tattoo.

What the **** did you just ******* say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the **** out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my ******* words. You think you can get away with saying that **** to me over the Internet? Think again, ******. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re ******* dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little ****. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your ******* tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will **** fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re ******* dead, kiddo.

But seriously if this man was innocent, by god that's ****** up.

It'd be different if he only stole or committed some other petty crime. But he didn't, he molested and killed a little kid. I have NO sympathy for him.

I kinda agree with the fact that it's sad that this whole event will over shadow the nice gesture of naming a park after Katie. Although if you don't have the decency to take your life away after you rape and kill a child you deserve hell. I would personally rape and stab that asshole daily for the rest of his life, and trust me I would arrange for that life to be sooooo long.

Now that the guard took picture could not had got em fired, that's their job to make reports and keep track of every lil **** going on in there. Having it leaked to the medias might but again who gives two **** about a child molester.

You almost got it. The "Girl" part was excessive. Had it been a boy, it would be the same thing. Therefore, you should not have included it. He just ******* deserved it for molesting a 10 year old kid.

Prison is weird like that. No matter what anybody does, they all hate child molestors.
