i can remember this so clearly it freaks me out to the point of panic sometimes:
When i was 5 i used to come down stairs in the morning around 6 to watch cartoons before school. One day i was sat watching scooby doo and my mothers candle set on the fire place shattered. I got up to see what had happened when i heard a tapping on the window. i turned and see 3 long bony talon-fingers reaching up from below the window (outside) and they were steadily tapping against the glass. Soon another set appeared and the gripped the window and pulled. A giant misshapen black leathery body covered in scars and blood pulled itself into my view and resting on its shoulders was a a mans head with huge wolf-like ears with a bone white mask(v for vendetta style without the guy fawkes face that cut off just below the nose) huge teeth, too big for him to close his mouth fully, dripping with dark liquid, i could see his eyes like smoldering coals staring at me through the holes in the mask. i literally was catatonic at this point not caring i was standing on glass or that i was hyperventilating. it stared it me then opened its mouth wider and clenched its talons into a spear head shape and pulled back. it was at this point i screamed, ran out the room upstairs into my mothers room and dived into her quilts where i eventually sobbed myself to sleep. Days later, a child was found mauled supposedly by a wild dog. Needless to say im rather afraid of ground floor windows/mirrors at night time now while on my own at least in case something like that happens again.

My baby brother used to experience some weird form of sleepwalking when he was 6-8 years old, he was near impossible to wake up and when he finally did he remembered nothing of the stuff he did and said.
One night at about 3 am i woke up because i heard screaming from his bedroom, I was creeped out and didn't wanna go check it out - my parents quickly went in and tried to soothe him, and they suceeded after a while. So i poked my head in to see what was up, and I remember him staring at my with wide horrified eyes, yelling "what is that? WHAT IS THAT? HELP!" he just went full retard, and even though it was so many years ago i still remember it oh so clearly..
Another time when he was put to bed, he would slowly come down the stairs all solemn with his arms folded like he was craddling a baby. He would then proceed to just stand there for a while, then put the "baby" down and the floor and then just cry his eyes out for like 10 minutes, completely unstoppable..
He's turned out to be a relatively sane kid though, but those nightly episodes still haunt me sometimes, and he remembers absolutely nothing of it.

Figured I could share some of my own scary experiences.

When I was around 6-8, I slept in a sort of bunk bed (but just one bed, so there was empty space underneath for having your desk there etc.)
The bed was located alongside a wall, with the ladder leading up to the bed itself being right next to the door to my room.
I kept having nightmares/thinking about a skeleton man with torn clothes and a single eye climbing up this ladder and staring right at me.
I was 100% sure that this really happened each night so I always lay under the cover, with my eyes wide open, facing the wall.
This led to me sleeping very little each night and I always woke up sweating like a pig.
You probably don't find this scary in the slightest, but I at that time was terrified, every night for maybe 2-3 years.

Next story in a reply to this one.

Seriously? You guys get to go to friggin haunted castles in 4th grade field trips? That's stupid. You know where I went for 4th grade field trips? Down the street to a goddamn Albertsons(Kind of crappy grocery store for non-amerifags).

All these stories have me remembering some of the creepy **** I used to experience.

I remember when I was younger, my little sister had the bedroom next to mine, but with how the doors were set up, I could look out into the hallway right in front of her door. (My door faced the banister that divided the hall from the stairs, while my sister's faced the length of the hall, facing the bathroom at the end. My parents' bedroom was beside the bathroom.

One night I saw a black figure walk past my door, pause, and then walk into my sister's room. It scared me at first, but I figured, since it looked like a man, it was my father. But I never saw him leave. And I kept watching, waiting for him to leave with growing unease. I can't recall what caused me to go get my sister, but I was scared ******** so I went into her room, took her out and brought her to bed with me. (She must have been between 2-4 at the time) Never did know what the figure was, but wasn't the last time I saw it.

When I was six my room had no curtains and huge windows that went down almost to the floor. I had a giant military Australian flag over the window as a curtain. The flag was thin and almost see through. One night I woke up to dull red eyes at the window, looking through the curtain. I must have stared for a while they blinked, then went away. I have no idea why I didn't scream...

I was sitting in my kitchen alone one night about a year ago, at around 2 am, doing the usual stuff (eating things and looking at stuff on the internet).
We have a clock on the wall that makes a little clicking sound when the timer moves. Suddenly i hear this loud spinning noise, like the clicking sound, but sped up. I look up at the watch and the timers are going absolutely nuts, like spinning around at 20mph in different directions. They do this for about 30 seconds and then boom, stop at 3:15.
The clock did this a couple of times, always at the same time, until i told my parents that we needed a new clock.
We got a new entirely different clock, and put it up on the same spot on the wall.
It worked for a couple of weeks, until one night i am sitting like always alone in the kitchen at 2 am.. Suddenly i hear this ******* spinning noise again, and i look up at the clock.
It is going ******* like the old clock, spinning around and stopping at 3:15.

We had this exact same **** going on with 3 different clocks, i **** you not.

A couple years ago I lived in a house briefly that had something really creepy about it. At night, if you walked down the hallway, in the dark it would seem like it went on forever.

Multiple times at night, my boyfriend heard (and I heard it once) a loud scream as if from an animal coming from somewhere nearby in the woods. (The place was a neighborhood, but still surrounded by woods.) As if something had been killed.

pic related, barely visible - And once in the middle of the day, my boyfriend's sister and I were sitting in the living room doing stuff. I looked out the window once, then a few minutes later did it again, and a cross had appeared on it. As if someone had written it with their finger when the window had condensation on it, although it was totally dry. Neither of us had moved, and were looking away from the window before we noticed it.

Later when we showed everyone else, we looked around and realized that there were crosses just like that on all the windows on that side of the house. We believe it was something good trying to protect us from whatever was evil about that house.

About the ages 2-7 i would sleep walk. A pretty normal thing except my sleep walking consisted of me going to the mirror in the hall way and laughing evilly until my dad was forced by my mom to come out and take me back to bed. this would happen nightly. I also remember my toys would move around like they would be in one place but then when i came back one would be out in the hall near the mirror. My bed would also shake and i would hear whispers a lot too. Up until we moved out of that house i slept walked about once a month my last one was when i was14 my friend spent the night. i sat in the dark for 2 hours and my family couldnt get me upstairs. My friend said i kept mumbling something about mommy and daddy. ******* creepy as **** . i believe it was a child ghost completely harmless. Sometimes if i listen closely enough i can still hear the whispers at night.

I work in this restaurant that used to be an old train station, the kitchen and pub pub dinning room are on the the first floor and there is a fancy dinning area up stairs with about 4 separate rooms for parties and such. After service one night me and a few servers were hanging out in the upstairs at a table at the bar having a few drinks when we heard footsteps coming from the other room. The four of us were the only ones in the building and everything had been locked up. The manager made a joke about there being a ghost and just after that two paintings fell off the wall and a bottle of grey goose flew off the shelf. Haven't been upstairs at night since.
