I enjoy some of his books but one thing I always found odd was, his ability to write 2 pages describing what a tree looked like but when it came to some subjects his writing ability converted to like 12 year old mode. One example I believe I remember word for word he called some girl's chest "oh so ******** tits." I know he was probably writing about what that particular character was thinking or whatever but it just seemed so out of place from the rest of the book.
User avatar #599 to #478 - sodapops (05/02/2013) [-]
Truth to tell most of his books are made for speedreaders like me. We let the impressions of the book wash over us like a waterfall, not paying attention to any single word. A good way to bypass this is to listen to an audio book instead of reading it.

The creepiest thing I heard was my niece used to always talk about things she saw that others didn't. She would always talk about the ones she liked, but she was afraid of the man with the scary eyes. It wasn't until I heard the story of my brother hearing a growl on the baby monitor, waking up, running to her room, and she said the man with the scary eyes was in there. Creepiest **** I ever heard, and I'm glad my daughter doesn't do that **** .

My little sister (she was 3 at the time) also said she saw people, and how some of them were nice to her, but there was also one, a woman with her face on fire and a book in her hand. I can't really remember that much about it but it happened quite often, like she would start crying in the night and screaming for my mom, telling my mom how the people in her room are scaring her, which obviously freaked out my mother as well. One thing that I clearly remember though, is one night when I was babysitting my sister when my mother was out drinking, my sister started crying and shouting for me, and I came into her room and she told me "the bad lady is in here" and I sat down on my sisters bed and hugged her and asked where the bad lady was, and she responded "she is right in front of you and she is looking at you now". I pretty much sat up the rest of the night watching movies because I was scared ******** and couldn't think about the idea of sleeping (I was 13 at the time). I got a few more creepy stories about stuff that has happened it our house if anyone's interested, our house is very old and 2 of our relatives have died in it and my mom has even had a so-called exorcist in our home to get rid of whatever she thought was haunting us.

Sure, Well once I had a friend overnight at my place, and when we were going to go into my room late at night, right as my friend opened the door and had his hand on the lightswitch, we heard my guitar make a noise like if someone dragged their finger across the strings with like 1 second between each string, so we look at eachother like WTF and he turned on the lights and we both look at my guitar, and then not a few seconds later, it happened again. We both saw how each individual string moved and made a sound, one after another. There was no logical explanation how that could have happened. Also, later that night, while we were trying to sleep, just talking about video games and such, my friend was sleeping on the floor and I had a bed which was like up near the roof, and you could like walk under it and so (like a bunk bed, except it had no lower part) and all of a sudden, the voice of a woman quietly said my name, not once but TWICE, and both me and my friend clearly heard it. In that same room, a lot of stuff moved around and my girlfriend once had a nightmare which made her act like a possessed demon, and I can tell you more about that story another time because that's probably the creepiest one that's happened, and that room is also the one where my sister kept seeing the burning lady and all the other people. Needless to say, I changed rooms. Got more stories if you're interested.

Man your life must be creepy as hell,
My creepiest story i have to tell is when i was a kid i always played upstairs and and sometimes heard this voice quite loud telling me to come down and somehow i thought it was my mother and i wanted to come down when i told my brother we had to come down he used to respond with 'no she is not our real mother she will hurt us' or something like that but apparently only we two could hear her/it when other kids were over and i heard the voice and i told them they thought i was crazy. but when i moved i stopped hearing it and pretty much forgot about it. All these creepy story telling made me remember.

But anyway do you got more of that burning lady thing or something equal that one is pretty intriguing
User avatar #386 to #382 - malformed (04/30/2013) [-]
Living in this house (which is nearly 200 years old, 6 people in total have died here due to age or accidents) has given me so much paranormal experience that I honestly have started to like it when creepy stuff happens, but yes, I can tell more about the burning lady first. It started with my sister starting crying very often, but she would never tell what it was that upset her, then after a while she became very quiet and weird, we even took her to the hospital because she seemed so void of emotions, then after a while she started confessing that there are people who keep talking to her which she do not know who they are, and after that my mother got scared (she is really scared of black cats, 666 and all bad omens and ghostly stuff) and called a exorcist (we've actually had one here 3 times) which came over here and did some weird stuff, and he told my mother that my sister has some kind of aura which attracts spirits, and that our house is actually right on a passageway for spirits and ghosts that they travel through on their way to heaven/hell/something-like-that, and that my mom's grandmother is watching my sister and my godmother as well, but that there is one spirit that wants only harm with my sister, and he can't get it to go away. Anyways, my sister kept crying at nights and days and being scared of being alone because the lady's face was really scary and whatnot. At that same time, I think we had like 4 consecutive days when at morning when we woke up, all our clocks would be set at the exact same time and stopped, I think it was something like 2:40 (all analog clocks, not the digital ones) and we had one ceramic owl which was always moved to the other side of the table it was on, and then turned so it was facing the wall. First my mother thought it was just me messing with her, but after I continuously told her that it wasn't me, she got scared and started having trouble sleeping at night. Running out of space to type, I'll write more soon.

Okay so I had my friend sleeping over (same friend as the voice and guitar thing) and my girlfriend, my friend was sleeping on the floor and my gf was sleeping with me. Suddenly, she started making some sort of moaning sounds, but not the good kind, more like she was in pain, then she started "locking" her hand/fingers, like it was like they became frozen, I had to force like 1 finger straight and then the entire hand would relax and all the muscles would come loose, and then after a few seconds she would lock her hand(s) again, like she was holding on to something. Okay so after a while she started crying, but I didn't want to wake her up because I read or heard somewhere that it can scare someone ALOT if you wake them up in a nightmare, so I just tried to hush her and hold her. Okay this is where the creepy part starts. After a little while, her hands started getting cold, and I mean REALLY cold, and by now I was starting to get more and more scared, but I chose to ignore it. Then all of a sudden, she came with her cold, hard-locked hand slowly (I had my back turned against her) creeping(?) across my lower back, and that is when my brain NOPE'd and I went down and decided I would sleep next to my friend (we were like 14 at the time, I was quite a pussy). I had no pillows and sheets, so I went to take some from my mothers bed, which was right outside of my room. When I opened the door, My 3 year old sister sat in my mothers bed STARING at me. I completely froze. I seriously thought I was going to die. She just sat there and stared, then she suddenly just lay down and started sleeping, and then I could move again because I wasn't as terrified any longer. So I took the pillow and sheets, with my heart in my throat and turned around... Now my girlfriend was sitting up in my bed, staring at me and crying. This is where I lost my **** and fainted. After a few seconds (I think) I woke up and everything was normal, except my GF was still crying. Didn't sleep that night.

Damn this **** is crazy, Worst that ever happened to me: I was sleeping over at a friend's house when I was 10, I think, and we're sitting there watching some movie, then out of the corner of my Eye i see a little girl, When I actually looked, she had hundreds of cuts all over her body, and A smile slightly too big, holding a knife. I freaked out and and the moment I blinked She was gone. That was the last time I stayed over at that house, mostly because thee was a fire and my friend had to move out.

A load freaky **** happened to me when I was a kid, around 4-5. I used to get told by mum to go get ready for bed, meaning brush my teeth and go toilet and get changed. I used to go upstairs and bathroom is directly ahead once you reach the top. I did whatever and come out. There are stairs ahead of me, a wooden barrister (if that's the word) and a little walkway to get to other rooms and attic. On the side of the wooden barrister to get to the other rooms I used to see a few people standing there. Moaning and looking at me. I had never seen these people before in my life. They had blood on their face and clothes and cuts all over. I used to shoot down the stairs to my parents which would at times comfort me and at times within a blink of an eye they would turn on me, as you see in movies where you are drugged and its all blurry apart from their faces which are right in your face. They would scream at me saying they were going to kill me and then I'd blink and everything would be fine again. The people I used to see happened every single day for about a year or even maybe more. Yeah pretty ****** up, also have more stories if people interested

Yeah was some ****** up **** , I'll tell you one about my great grandad, my mums mums dad, grandmas dad basically. He had passed away and prior to this he would always play with me and like bite my ear or hand, I was a child then. A little background info, he was paralyzed from the waist down and had a bed in the front room downstairs. He also used to have a chair which he'd sit in time to time. He passed away and around 6 weeks later coming inside my grandmas house from playing football for a glass of water there's nobody in the room. I look towards his chair and their he is sitting back, just looking right into my eyes and following me as I slowly move, me being scared ******** I ran into the kitchen, brushed it off, got my water and went back out. Come back in later on yet again for another glass of water and I see him in his chair again. Just following me with his eyes and I run like a ******* again. Was around 10-11 at the time. Thinking back on it I wished I had chat to him, to see if he responded but at that time, all that goes through your head is ghosts, go close and try to communicate and they make some scary ass face and move towards you.

Wow, i have a little sister she's about 7 now. I remember in our old house, she had these imaginary friends. (Like most children) She was quite a lonely child due to us living in an isolated town 100 population. Anyways she would always come up with weird ******* names. KHA-JA. One day i was taking care of her she was about 4 at the time, and she laughs and goes "Look Kha-jas behind you!" It scared the **** out of me because behind me was a dark hallway...

Well at my grandmas house one day and when my baby bro was just little, couldnt even talk at that point. Anyways mum was walking to grandmas and once she got their she seemed freaked out. We asked her what happened and she was like we was walking and got under the big tree near the field and he just started waving at someone. She looked back and no one was there. She asked him who's he waving at and he just pointed and waved. She got his head onto her chest so he couldn't look back and got to grandmas as fast as she could. We have these things called jinns in our religion. We believe it and they're basically ghosts but bastard ghosts in a sense. Can possess you and etc. Worth reading into and some freaky **** .

I'll look into that later on tonight. Yea as a kid i was weird as **** , at my dad's house www.zillow.com/homedetails/17-Donworth-St-Stockholm-ME-04783/84886525_zpid/ < Not sure if we are a loud to post urls. It's creepy as **** there though and so pretty much i would make faces of stuff as a kid and there was a birch tree outside my window and it was in the face of a cat. But only i could see it, and i would talk to it. Years later i forgot it about and when my younger sister came into my room she goes "Looks Katie it's a cat!" And points at it. Just creeped me out a lot
#28 to #27 - ussioc (04/29/2013) [-]
Outside it looks scary as **** . Like some murderers torture house haha, but what I dont like is that it's surrounded by trees... Yeah another thing is jinns usually are around trees and blah blah but yeah that's what would freak me out the most, the trees, sounds daft I know.. But yeah as a kid I was **** scared of the dark. Always end up making out faces in my room and once I turned my light off I'd shoot into the bed and cover my head. Ultimate protection against anything scary when you're a kid.

Yep pretty much, and at my dad's house he showed me a lot of scary movies so you can guess what that would due to a 6 year old's mind. I used to imagine a red golem laying under my bed. Just waiting for my foot to dangle and for him to grab it and drag me underneath.

There are thousands of cases of children claiming past lives, on islands or in places that they themselves, and the family, have never heard of. It usually stops at the age of 4-5 but can continue. I personally know a guy, and his parents swear to this day, that at the age of 4 he spoke FLUENT chinese with a lady, he was never taught chinese, and spent no time around people who did speak chinese. but he could read it as well off something that was hanging on the restaurant wall.

It's pretty much impossible to give a positive answer on why this happens. personally, as a theist, i do believe we have souls and that the soul is more apparent when we are younger, but fades away so that we may become our own persons. I believe life is just a learning exercise, and you get sent back many times in order to learn new lessons.

i myself do believe in past lives. and i dont mean live only 2 separate lives like how ive seen and heard most ppl believe (even though in some cases it is true depending on how young the individual's soul is). i mean living countless different lives through out time (and possibly space).

there are some cases (idk if rare or not) where an individual is so connected with another life they previously had and if the individual does not become their own person then they will become who they once were again.

One thing I always wondered, though, is about the population increase. There are a lot more people on Earth now than even 100 years ago. If we have past lives, how do we account for more people?
User avatar #472 to #419 - burningsmurfs (04/30/2013) [-]
I always wondered that too and I always figured the answer would be God can create a soul or there's like a source of souls that isn't necessarily a limited number just something we can't really conceive of with our puny mortal minds or some such. That's at least what I told myself so I could go to sleep that night.
User avatar #473 to #472 - psychlogic (04/30/2013) [-]
That's what I was thinking. Not everyone would have past lives. It's weird to think about, having like a "new" versus "used" soul.

Yeah and then when the cellular memory theory popped up I started thinking maybe that could explain how some folks have deja vu or memories of the past. Perhaps some rare set of circumstances sets the cells to replay mode for lack of a better way of saying it.

Like that one story where this guy meets God after he dies, and God tells him that he's reincarnated, and is, in fact, EVERY person on Earth who ever existed, and ever will exist. That one person is reincarnated over and over until s/he truly learns his/her divinity. Or something like that. It was a fun story.

Apparently I used to talk to dead people.
Namely my deceased relatives.
My parents finally told me (when I was like 17) that when I was just learning to speak well, I'd just spontaneously be like; "Okay, Grandpa. I'll be good."
Grandpa had been dead for years.
User avatar #334 to #78 - Sacrifice (04/30/2013) [-]
Apparently I did too. Not to old relatives, but to a lady in a chair.

I'd sit for hours having one sided conversations with a chair. Always the same chair. My mam wasn't worried; she knew I would be fine.

She told me years later about my conversations, which I don't remember, and also tells me that we got the house shortly after an old lady had died there.

I used to talk to some soldier that was dressed in a military uniform that would visit me almost every night while I was in bed. He'd just stand at the foot of the bed and talk to me, tell me stories and whatnot.
Later on I recounted this to my mom who was like "Oh I guess he has an imaginary friend" until she talked to my great-aunt. Apparently, I was describing exactly what my Great-great uncle Jack Vosper, looked like and the stories matched up.He was part of a British artillery contingent in World War 1. He died in the trenches during the Battle of Ypres in Belgium.
What gets even more freaky is late last year I was going through some old...old old old letters from back then. I found the last one he sent to his sister before he went into the trenches where he'd die.... "They're sending us into the trenches soon. Don't worry about me, Gerty, I'll be home soon."
A few weeks later I swear to **** I heard a ghost or something talk to me. I was over at my friend's place and had to pretty much watch the house while she was running errands since she didn't have a key for the place yet(They had just moved in). So I was just chilling there, sitting on the floor leaning against a wall. Next thing I know I hear some guy's voice, but there was no one else home, no TV on, no computer, nothing. I had this overwhelming feeling that the voice was talking to ME, specifically. But it was like it was talking through...almost like a soaked blanket, really really muffled, yet you can hear the individual words, but not understand them. The entire time this went on I couldn't move. I tried, I gave my damnedest to move any muscle, but I just sat there and could only move my eyes. I have a vague recollection of sliding down the wall and laying on my right side like that. Later on my friend is shaking me awake looking like she about had a heart attack, she told me she came in and found me laying there with my eyes open staring into nothing. I still have no ******* idea what happened.

Possible, my only counter-arguement is that something along the same lines has happened before this. I was sitting in my room, and I think this was...1-2 years ago, my mom, dad, and sister were out of town and I was home alone. I was just sitting at my computer playing BF3, when I heard the same kind of voice. This time it was behind me, but still masculine, muffled but could hear the breaks between words and the feeling that whatever it was, it was talking to ME. I even pinpointed where it was, it seemed like someone was laying in my bed on their left side towards my nightstand/reading light. As if they were laying there reading a book, but talking to me. I got up and walked towards it, still hearing it, and put out my hand... Now, my computer at the time was a heat-generating monster. It essentially served as an area heater for my entire room. Without the AC on, or the fan going at the time, I walked to the edge of my bed, put out my hand towards the sound and pressed it to the bed where it sounded like it was coming from. I felt the most icy cold sensation I've ever encountered, but extremely localized to my hand and about to my elbow. No where else on my body. As soon as I did that, the voice stopped and the sensation was gone in a couple seconds. I just...I still remember that **** perfectly and get chills.

According to my mom: when I was 2-5 years old, I was obsessed with shadows and darkness, and fluently spoke a language that she'd never heard before (She described is as "Gutteral and Angry-Sounding") better than I could speak English. During this period of time, I had an imaginary friend that I described as "a man made out of black shadows and smoke, wearing a white mask without eye-holes, and long teeth" that I called "Jeckzer" or something... It appears that I had a Grim Reaper(?) as an imaginary friend before I even know who/what the Grim Reaper was. I also referred to myself as "Grozmolrok" or something along those lines.

I've lived in the same house all of my life, and some strange **** has happened to me over my lifetime. One time, I was getting ready for bed (I was about 5) When I hear moaning from the living room. I figured it was just my grandpa, who was very sick and always in pain. Anyways, I finish getting ready for bed and go to the living room to tell my grandpa goodnight. He isn't there. I ask my grandma what where he was, and she said, "Sorry whoisthatguyable, he isn't here, his car broke down and hes staying at a motel for the night." WTF.PNG So I go to bed and fall asleep, and I hear that same groaning in my dreams, except this time its several people around me in a village, they are all hurt and writhing in pain. A woman looks at me I ask her where I am, but she just screams,"Alerga pentru viața ta, e Tepes!" (Something along those lines, I have trouble remembering now) Anyway she runs away and I follow her, trying to figure out where I am. I then came across a scene, hundreds over bodies, impaled with pikes. I woke up and asked my grandma about the dream. She was just as freaked out as me, and she says that my family could be traced back all the way to the time period of Vlad the impaler. Believe me or not, its by far the freakiest thing that's ever happened to me.

So, some fairly unusual things have happened to me before, but this was probably the most violent:
At my previous house, a couple strange things would happen, such as my bed randomly shaking (Still happens occasionally but less intensely) and my cat and dog getting scared as all **** for no reason. One day, a Saturday after ballet, I decide to take an evening nap. So I turn off my light, my fan, my tv, and my laptop, which was sitting open on an easel-table thing. Anyway, I fall asleep. I didn't dream, but I distinctly remember being in sleep paralysis (sleep paralyzed?) and something in my head screaming at me not to open my eyes. I fought as hard as I could to lift up my arm, but I fell back asleep before that happened.
I woke up an hour later with my torso down to my butt hanging off of the foot of my bed, but less hanging and more stiffly jutting out. I remember my muscles being clenched incredibly tight. I was in the position Christ would have been if the cross was laying on the ground. My fan was going at full blast, my light was on, my tv was on, and my laptop was on the screensaver.
I didn't sleep til dawn.

I told her that she walked past the door and smiled at me, but she told me that it couldn't have been her. I assumed it was my guardian angel or something.
