Oh for ***** sake this is what I hate about the world. Everywhere you ******* go people hide stupidity behind opinions. "You can't tell me I'm wrong, it's my opinion" or "It's my opinion and I'm entitled to it." You can't go five minutes without some asshole telling you how "the sky is made of butterfly semen and that's why it's blue" (or some other kind of ****** up piece of information) who then gets all huffy, saying that you violated his right to free speech when explaining why it's wrong. The reason why people are such idiots today, the reason why we have to dumb everything the **** down, is because a group of whiney ***** who didn't have the balls to admit they were wrong said that their opinions should be protected as freedom of speech. Now you have Retarded Roberts and Special Sally's running around spoiling society with their ****** up and WRONG ways of thinking. When I was growing up you were either right or wrong, there was no "well, the facts pretty strongly suggest otherwise, but since you're going to verbally harass me for infringing on your right to free speech if I try to explain why, I'm going to have to accept it as your opinion". If you were wrong and you refused to accept what was right, you'd get a slap in the face. Now you get teachers and parents who hold their obese children's hands as they slowly descend into retardation because they don't have the balls to say "billy, that's ******* stupid, you're wrong." Stupid/wrong people have effectively bastardized the term opinion so they can avoid having to learn the basic factual information. It's the same principal as consolation prizes. "Congrats! you're a fat **** who can't run five meters without throwing up 8 hot dogs, but since your fatass mother will bitch to her lawyers about unfair advantages against the actual fit kids, we're going to give EVERYONE a prize and label obesity as a disease so you can feel special about absolutely nothing, and ruin others' sense of accomplishment."

but thats not what opinions are... opinions are me liking hip hop and someone else liking rock. in that sense, yeah we all have our own opinions. no one can say butterfly semen makes the sky blue as an opinion, its more like a theory which has to be weighed up against every other theory to hold its ground.

so i get what you mean, but youre barking up the wrong tree right now..

Well, I think the first amendment should stay where it is, it's just that people need to either think really hard before they decide to open their mouths, or other people should be more responsible in pointing out stupidity at its inception before wrong information spreads like herpes on a college slut. As for the last statement.... I couldn't agree more.

Instead of going ******* over someone saying "Justin Bieber is the best," you hold your tongue and let it go. Nowhere did it say that people were hiding their stupidity behind their "opinions". Correcting someone who is wrong versus holding your tongue over an opinion are completely two different things. Basically the story of my life. We were discussing women's rights in my AP Psychology class (specifically, we got on the topic of women in the military) a month back or so, and we were all trying very hard to keep things in balance. The class is pretty evenly split between boys and girls, and our teacher is a guy who served in the Marines, but even he didn't want to deal with any cross fire. Things were going pretty well, until this little runt (we'll call him Smed because why the **** not) decided to open his mouth. He's the type of person who always says something that manages to irritate everyone in the class for absolutely no reason, aka, being an ass for the sake of being an ass, but he tries to act earnest about it. He claimed that, since women can't control their emotions on their periods and aren't nearly as strong as any man, they shouldn't be allowed to serve.
Keep in mind, 'Smed' looks like a carbon copy of Justin Beiber (I kid you not) so he's the last person to be talking about machismo. The class had been pretty tense before that but we descended into a hell fire and fury fueled reign of angry curse slinging after that, most of it directed at him. Our teacher finally managed to calm us down, and this one kinda quiet girl raised her hand. We were all thinking, "Oh, good, finally, someone more modest is going to speak."
She ******* raises her hand and says, "But if women could just stay at home and have kids and not worry about anything else and have your husband do this stuff, why does this matter?" You could ******* hear the crickets. It wasn't even women's rights anymore, it was just ignorance as far as I'm concerned.
I still stick to 'Equality for better or worse' meaning that women should have the same rights but also share the same responsibilities as men, but even people who didn't think that were just ******* staring at these two with this <-- look on their face. I think our teacher was very happy when our class was let out that day.
#54 to #12 - John Cena (04/21/2013) [-]
Women can be in the military all they want, but now they're allowed to join the front lines. I've had a friend have his buddy shot to the point where he couldn't move and if he wasn't a man he would never have been able to drag him to safety. **** equality if the cost can be lives.

Keep physical standards the same for both genders, that goes for women firefighters too.
#227 to #54 - John Cena (04/22/2013) [-]
What pisses me off it that women don't have to register for selective service. If the Koreans come over the wall the women should have to go die with the men. As long as they change it to where women are eligible for the draft i could care less how they get blown away.

I have to agree with you on that one mate. Something just isn't right. One of the victims looks like one of the victims of Sandy Hook, ******** of bullets were fired at the suspects while fleeing and most of them missed, suspect unable to talk, someone on 4chan predicted the incident before it happening and claimed it would be fake, suspects don't flee from Boston until their photo is released, and a whole ******* army searches a neighborhood and finds nothing until someone calls them. This isn't the only thing that seems strange. Most of the recent shootouts and **** don't either. Implying that I do not do my own research is stupid. Why can I not have my own opinion?
Yes I have seen the websites and the videos, and all of that jazz, yet they just do not add up for me, and I am sorry you feel ignorant enough to say that you are right, and I am wrong no matter what. I do my research like I said, and there may be a day I change my mind, along with my friends minds who who look into this sort of thing, but it is not this day.

The problem is, you people spread this information and nothing gets done by you people in the first place. The only thing I see is people pointing fingers and trying to find excuses to point weapons too. I want no part of this rambling nonsense until I get proof of it being real, and not videos with opinions and angles and ideas.

Calling me "dickhead" or a "neckbeard" (Which made me laugh, as I am far from it) and all the other names does not make you sound smarter.

Want to do something about it? Get the **** off your keyboard, rally the people and get something done. Prove me wrong with action, and not words, or badly edited videos.

#312 to #309 - swagbot (04/23/2013) [-]
Let's not start a who-insulted-who contest. Let me remind you of your first comment:

"Oh for ***** sake, we live in a big world. bad things happen. What sort of nation blames every single damn thing on a government that they run themselves? Christ, you little hipsters should try living in a nation that is actually bad."

The 'action' part of this is the hardest part... I have a plan for things i could do to possibly more effectively rally the populace, but until then, i spend my nights relaxing by gettin' some funny & spreading' some knowledge on FJ, which is (sadly) the most effective i can be at spreading the word in my current situation.

Also, assuming I, swagbot, DID get out and 'do something' (i.e. do more research or sumthin...) would you give me any credence even then? Or are you just the sort of person who needs a signed affidavit from the suspects to agree with our theory? How much proof is enough for you? Yes, most of what's in the video is circumstantial evidence, but AT LEAST it's consistent.

I'm going to point out a very dangerous nuance of what you just said:
It seems to me like You want me to 'take action' to make my views more popular, so that You will be more easily able to agree with them.

If that is indeed the case, you should ask yourself for your own sake: why do my views need to be popular for you to agree with them?

I am a logical person - I believed the 9/11 story (barely) when all i heard was Fox News and other peoples' re-enforcement of it. However, the Alternative Stories i researched after disconnecting the Cable not only overlaid my original suspicions with startling accuracy, but drew a much more logical narrative between 9/11 and a wider range of other events/discussions (with vets etc.)/observations. Therefore, not actually knowing what happened (like you), I choose to believe the 'Inside Job' theory, and will do so until somebody outs one side or the other.
User avatar #313 to #312 - exarzero (04/23/2013) [-]
I almost would believe it. I know from military history things that have happened more than once. Things even they admit...

Look, you want to make a point, get a camera and start asking questions. I will watch them, I do pay attention more than you know. It is just that my engineer, and military friends help to explain certain things that make 9/11 look like it truly was an attack outside the govt. control. I never said you had to be popular, but it does help.

People that go down this line of though all to often start pinning every single thing on the govt. without rational thinking even when there is nothing to pin the blame on. I cannot let that happen to me.

Get out there, and prove it fully. I promise that I would do everything I could to see justice done.
