these nostalgia posts really fail to convey the intended message to me

if anything, we should envy them because **** like this is better off obsolete

And they will never know the tragedy of the notice, "this memory card is corrupt and must be formatted."

Same for gamecube, I remember I would try to play all of dragon ball z sagas in one day because I couldn't save.

OH WE'RE SO OLD AND CLASSIC, EVERYONE YOUNGER THAN US JUST DOESN'T UNDERSTAND.

If I was flicked on the head for every time I saw a post that resembled something along those lines, my head would be a splattered, bloody mess on the floor.

Every 90's kids post makes me cringe.

I remember for my PSOne I didn't have a memory card for almost a year after I got one. I would waste an entire day trying to beat a game before my mom would tell me to turn it off and go to bed. If I didn't I would have to go through and try to beat the game all over again.

Dear God! I remember how fascinated I was to hear that some games didn't need the all important memory card! I only had a ps consoles at first. GIF for that moment when your main memory cards went missing.

I know how you feel. When I first got my gamecube I had no memory card. I swear I unlocked marth on Super Smash Bros. Melee at least 50 times
User avatar #23 - sirbendalot (04/09/2013) [-]
That's the truth. When I first got Dragon Ball Z Budokai, I played the **** out of that game. I could never beat Frieza (I was 5 chill) and I never had a memory card. So, every day, I fought through Raditz, Saibamen, Nappa, Vegeta, Recoome, Captain Ginyu (twice) and Frieza THREE ******* TIMES. When I finally beat it, I didn't turn my Playstation off for two weeks until my new dad got me a memory card. I will always remember that.

The worst moment is when you went to your friends house but forgot the memory card.

in my day we didn't have a rumble controller. We had a rumble pak that felt like 100 pounds after playing so long. Didn't get that till C-c-c-c-combo breaker and barrel roll days.

Beat me to the punch by about five minutes.

These things were freaking awesome. Made the controller heavy enough to beat my friends with when they beat me.

I was a bit of a sore loser.

I remember when I got my first memory card (8mb)(for Playstation 2™) and I got to save the games I played with the (Dualshock 2™ Analog Controller)(for Playstation 2™)!

Not that many consoles actually needed a Memory card.
The only ones I can think of is PS1, PS2, GameCube, and Dreamcast(Maybe)
Other consoles either rarely needed a Memory card.
#76 to #72 - batassassin (04/10/2013) [-]
that doesn't really change the fact that the PS1 and the PS2 had them did it sport
User avatar #78 to #76 - moofinbanana (04/10/2013) [-]
It would make more sense if the content just had a PS1 considering they stopped PS2 production in 2007 and games are still being made.
User avatar #117 to #78 - scarycanary (04/10/2013) [-]
actually japan still produced the ps2 until literally a few months ago, good thing my original model still works perfect (other than the fact it sounds like crap but i would too if i was not cleaned for 12 years and up untill the xbox 360 came out in 05 i played my ps2 religiously).

xbox memory card went in controller, remember?

I said "needed a memory card"
The Xbox had an Internal Hard-Drive.

This is why i loved my xbox so much more than my PS3. ******* memory cards were expensive when you are like 12 and the original xbox felt like it had unlimited memory

Xbox has a ridiculous amount of 12 year olds compared to Play Station. I have both so i can judge. Plus who plays Skyrim on a console? Im not a pc gamer yet i still play it on mine.
User avatar #37 to #36 - sketchE (04/09/2013) [-]
i prefer console. ive played both ps3 and xbox online. the best part about ps3 was how bad everyone was

User avatar #43 - blackshot (04/10/2013) [-]
poor you. how about when there was no video games in every house?
did anyone ever think that perhaps there were(and still are) many kids that like to go out and do anything but play video games?
I'd much rather be riding a horse, my dirtbike, or just in the shop making something.
User avatar #46 to #43 - fishtacos (04/10/2013) [-]
And that is called a difference in perspective, something that most humans today lack.
User avatar #218 to #46 - blackshot (04/15/2013) [-]
yes.
in fact, I know of 10 people that spent this weekend playing video games.
I was in my shop all day today fixing my backhoe and greasing it.
spent 75% of saturday playing with my dogs and shooting birds in the tree tops with a pellet gun. the other 25% was ordering parts.

friday night after school was spent cutting 2 cord of wood, all rounds by axe.
