my actual bike at the moment.
goes about 50 miles and is from the DDR, it was mostly in a terrible condition but i restored it completely.
User avatar #71 to #64 - thedutchs (04/06/2013) [-]
That's actually pretty cool.

How much did you pay for it together with repairs?
#86 to #71 - ctenop (04/06/2013) [-]
HA, well they go for £1100 new, so I bought it for £525, with an aprillia racing exhaust to sell and a cover. Spend just under £400 on the first bit of work, then over £200 after the first crash (had a lot of physio, 3 months of sitting around doesn't do much help) and then I got back on it, and someone cut me up just days after I got back on it. Just spent around £100 on sprockets and chain, needs another £200 odd done to it, but I do it myself. Got conned by the bloke selling it and the bike shop....pic related, my arm after crash, the doctors say I'm lucky I can still ride.
#91 to #86 - gorden (04/06/2013) [-]
so youre from england? (steerwheel on the right side)
well that arm looks hard, i also had a pretty hard crash 3 years ago.
i cutted a car (i was tired (15hours awake) and just... dont know i didnt realise the car)
and well i flipped over the car and landed 5 meters atfer it on the street. Felt like call of duty when a grenade explodes near you this beeep you know? i had to wear an armwrist vor 6 weeks and broke my shoulder 2 completely and muskels where cut

pic related my scooter when i was 15 also the scooter i crashed into a ford K
User avatar #88 to #86 - thedutchs (04/06/2013) [-]
Holy **** bro. What exactly is that thing that went through your arm?
#99 to #88 - gorden (04/06/2013) [-]
its hard to explain. it was the car that broke my shoulder cause i drove into its side with speed n stuff and then the physic law said **** you and let me crash into the car full speed, i flew over it and landed behind it... see the picture maybe it explains
User avatar #103 to #99 - thedutchs (04/06/2013) [-]
So you crashed into the hood of her car?
User avatar #106 to #103 - gorden (04/06/2013) [-]

I broke my Ulna in one place, and my radius in 2, shattering it in between the 2 breaks. The screwed screws into my forefinger bone and my radius...with scaffolding to hold my wrist in place, they had no idea what to do, as the surgeon said my wrist was "mashed".they unscrewed them six weeks later with no pain relief (at first). That was at 30 with full gear, my second was at the same in full gear, I still walk with a limp, both wrists are bad, the right will never quite have full movement and I have other problems too. Still, 2 wheels move the soul, gonna bike till the day I die, or can't ride :P
User avatar #94 to #92 - thedutchs (04/06/2013) [-]
Amen to that, brother.
User avatar #96 to #94 - ctenop (04/06/2013) [-]
I remember the first time I saw a bmw s1000rr...it was a 62 year old dude riding it. People think bikes are just like transport, they're not, you have the brotherhood between all bikers, the fun, the freedom etc. Did you read the recent MCN about a bloke who covered 250,000 miles in 14 years on a bike? :D
User avatar #98 to #96 - thedutchs (04/06/2013) [-]
Nope. But I agree to that riding is more than a way of transportation! I'm definitly going to build my own bike when I'm old enough and have the money. I've got a friend with a garage, so it shouldn't be a problem.
User avatar #101 to #98 - ctenop (04/06/2013) [-]
This course I'm doing for the next few years (should lead onto motorsport mechanics) they not only do the course, but have projects, like they just built a cafe racer out of a cg125, and building a drag bike next year. They also built a bike from scratch (chassis and all) and the people on the course bring in their own bikes to build :D Nothing more therapeutic or fun than riding, and if not riding, working on the bike :P
User avatar #107 to #101 - thedutchs (04/06/2013) [-]
Nice! I wish I was good at technics and mechanics and all... But I'm only someone who can appreciate a nice machine. Good luck on making a monsterbike, though!
User avatar #112 to #107 - ctenop (04/06/2013) [-]
haha, by monster I meant ducati monster, 696 probs haha, and you can always Learn? You can do anything with a haynes manual :D
User avatar #113 to #112 - thedutchs (04/06/2013) [-]
Haynes manual?
User avatar #114 to #113 - ctenop (04/06/2013) [-]
Google it, for certain bikes, they tell you how do to anything, like if you have a zx9r or zx7r, you get the haynes manual for it. They do the same for cars, it's how to fix and maintain them, and they do a book for models :)
#72 to #71 - gorden (04/06/2013) [-]
about 400€ it could sell it for about 700-800€

User avatar #89 to #87 - thedutchs (04/06/2013) [-]
Seriously man. You should think about opening a garage later. You really know your **** .

Also, these are some classy bikes. I would rather ride these things for 800 than ride a vespa for 1500.
#93 to #89 - gorden (04/06/2013) [-]
yeah i shoud, and i maybe do. Dutch? Well, Nothern germany isnt to far away if you ever want a bike in nice condition. I'm from emsland about 40km from winschooten
User avatar #97 to #93 - thedutchs (04/06/2013) [-]
If I ever have the money for something like that... I wonder how I would transport that bike, too. Border of Germany is about 2 hours by car for me.
User avatar #102 to #97 - gorden (04/06/2013) [-]
Get a friend, get a car, let him ride the car back, you drive the motorcycle :)
User avatar #104 to #102 - thedutchs (04/06/2013) [-]
I'll think about buying one of your bikes if I ever have enough money. I'm going to work this year so maybe somewhere in the future.
User avatar #85 to #84 - gorden (04/06/2013) [-]
well i only have 1 ATM cause i restore, drive and then sell'em , get a new one, restore, drive, sell'em

no i dont, but i live in a small village and there are not so many things to do except of gaming, drinking and tuning/restoring bikes

i just have a lot of experiences in this kind of things.
#77 to #64 - ctenop (04/06/2013) [-]
Mine atm, had to replace most parts, been in 2 crashes and had to replace more, and still needs more parts (added sprockets with extra teeth as well) -_- I have managed to get 85 out of it thought. Doing a course on motorcycle mechanics next year, hoping to tweak the engine and exhausts etc to get it a bit smoother. Or sell it and buy a monster :D
User avatar #79 to #64 - ctenop (04/06/2013) [-]
