I laugh whenever I see him. He reminds me of a nerdy 18 year old fat kid.

I've been seeing a lot about North Korea on my Facebook newsfeed. Did something new happen?

More threats.
Armistice between North and South removed.
Kaesong (spelling?) industrial site was shut off to the South.
North Korean army authorized to use nuclear weapons on the US.
US moving missile defense system to Guam to shelter that area.

That's just a quick list of a few things going on currently.

Oh yeah, also NK is restarting two nuclear facilities that were decommission back in 2007 I think. This way they can produce more materials for nuclear weapons.

It's been escalating pretty heavily the past few days. The US is convinced that NK doesn't have the missile technology (despite their boasts) to reach mainland US, but we're also convinced we can stop any missiles if they do launch. Mostly we're concerned with protecting South Korea, Seoul, Guam, etc. from their short-mid range missiles.

Also, the UK is prepping their nuclear deterrents (something to do with 'Trident', haven't read much on it).

So it's become a looming threat, with some analysts predicting they could launch a missile by mid April.

So we just sit back and wait.

Why is the UK starting their nuclear program? And how well defended are we?

I'm not sure on our own defense systems, but we should be good. Plus, it's doubtful they have powerful enough missiles to reach the US.

The UK is setting up their defense out of rising fear that NK may choose to target them next. If they do happen to have long-range missiles to reach the US, they could also hit the UK and the rest of Europe.
