lol my friend put a giant unequal sign as his Facebook pic not because he doesn't want gay rights, but to show that changing your profile picture does nothing to change the world other than enrage a specific group of people

Quite frankly I'm surprised no one sees it like I do. The more gay people there are the more women for the straight guys. I mean really, even lesbians like the D every once in the while. regardless of the composition of said D.

What is marriage? It's for two people that love each other to live together and raise a family, right? It's actually more than that. It is for a man and a woman to join together spiritually to become one person. The problem with legal marriages is that it is no longer just about love, but it is for financial benefits as well, which ruins the image of marriage and what it really is. That is the main problem with gay marriages. There is no point for them to be married except for the financial benefits, whereas a man and a woman become one person (through the church). I will not support gay marriage just to go with the flow as many people are doing, but I will remain true to my morals, no matter the criticism I will get.

I am trying to say that marriage should only be for joining two people spiritually, and since gays can not do this, there is no point in them to get married.

They cannot join spiritually because it can only be done through God, and God planned marriage between a man and a woman.

I am Catholic, and sure, you might not believe what I believe in, that's fine. I am just stating what I believe in, just like everyone here is.

Well, in the bible it says:
Genesis 2:22-24
"Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man." For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."
This is not stating it literally, but the bible is very symbolic, and it is basically saying that a man and woman become one after marriage.
Matthew 19:5
'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'
This is my reason for not believing in gay marriage, but sorry for not believing what you do.

Ok seriously, I don't give a **** about gay marriage. I'm straight, so it affects me in no way, shape, or form. I do not give a **** if they can marry or not. I don't ******* care...

Well, that's fine.
The fact still remains that there are a lot of gay people all over the world, and currently in America gays and gay supporters are fighting DOMA and trying to get equal rights.
So, if gay rights don't concern you, that's cool, but you honestly can't be upset about all of this. It's like during the Olympics, when everyone is posting that your country's team won the gold in ***********************, you say "well, I don't play ***********************, so I don't ******* care".
Moreover, just because you're straight doesn't mean that you can't support gay rights. The fact that Americans, with "freedom", can't marry who they love, is just ******* sad, and if you don't care, then there is probably something wrong with you.

Just saying.

Like I said... I do not give a ****. I'm straight, whether or not gays can marry doesn't affect me. I don't care. Why is something wrong with me because gay marriage doesn't directly affect me in any way? I neither support gay rights nor oppose gay rights because like I said, it doesn't concern me.

I support it because we as Americans have the right to love whoever we want. I'm straight to, don't get me wrong if a dude asked me out I'd say "Look I'm flattered but I don't swing that way." I'm not going to go mad and yell "**** off I'm not queer!" You don't have to be gay to support gay marriage. I think of it as "Supporting freedom to all." And I love Freedom. I will defend my freedom and the freedoms of those around me to my last dying breath because I am American and it is what the founding fathers would have wanted from me. Religious people say "It goes against traditional marriage." But two people who hate and beat each other have more of a right to get married than two men or two women who love each other? When I think marriage, I think love. Not tradition. I'm not going to marry a woman because it's tradition to get married. I'm going to marry a woman because I love her enough to be with her for the rest of our lives. See? There is nothing wrong with supporting freedom.

But my point is it does not DIRECTLY affect me so I don't care. Whether 2 men can marry or not does not impact my life at all. It doesn't matter to me. I'd rather think about my freedom and rights rather than there's. I wont concern myself with them. They aren't me. I'm not gay. It doesn't matter to me.

If it's legalized: oh.
If it isn't legalized: oh.
